Newbie needs help

Hey everyone! So I'm a new altima coupe owner...and it's my first car ever. I love it and would love to know how best to care for it.

I was reading on the boards that Meguiars brand seems to be good so I bought the car wash and the Meguiars Gold Class wax... do I need anything else?

I washed the car today but didn't feel right waxing until I heard from other owners what their routine is.

So if anyone could let me know..that'd be great

That's all I use - it gives the car a real nice shine and coat to it. Someone else should chime in here, but aren't you not supposed to wax a brand new car for a few months, this way you can give the paint a chance to settle?

Other than that, I think your only other requirement is to send some of that Hawaiian sun over here to Jersey - its 29 degrees this morning!

I havn't had my car for long, about 4 months now. I used Meguires when i waxed my car and it works super good, i waxed it for the first time about 2 months after i had the car. I didn't bother using the claybar since it's still so new, not really any residue that has built up. I was also reluctant to wax too soon after buying it so i waited the 2 months.

The dealer left my car in dust and simply just washed it when I bought it, swirl marks everywhere! First I washed it with soap, then clay bar, then paint cleaner/wax, polish, and then waxed it using all meguiars products. Reduced swirl marks drastically and my car is now shiny and glossy

Thanks for all of the advice...it's my first car ever and I had no idea that you weren't supposed to wax the car for the first few months...good to know!
