i just recently bought a 91 240sx coupe, it runs really good .just on occasions, usually after a semi spirited round of driving or highway cruising over 3500 rpm , the motor cuts out when i attempt to use the brake.i can usually just pop the clutch in gear and bring it back to life. this is usually followed by idling well below 500 rpm under breaking and sometimes cutting out allover again.wondering if anyone has had similar issues. any help will be greatly appreciated.ty.

This happend to me in my 97 nissan truck. I forgot what we had to replace. I could call my mechanic up tomorrow if you really want to know and find out what it was. all in all it cost 3 grand to fix. My truck allways dropped to real low RPMs and driving on the interstate the damn thing would just shut down on me. and while driving i'd have to start it up again and hope it would get me home.

Thank god some old *** pulled out in front of me and totaled it :-) luckly got me a new car :-)

Wrong forum. I'll help you anyway...

Check ALL your vacuum lines. If you have a vacuum leak it could easily cause the motor to stall when coming to a stop.

Also check and clean your IACV.

sounds like it could be vac leaks, check all hoses and do a quick tune up so you can troubleshoot less parts.
