Hi guys, In my quest for a cheap and reliable turbo car Ive gone threw many choices but then I relized that I could do a 240sx swap:D So my questions are that If I do the swap and keep the boost to a very safe level, will this car be like a rx7 and always breack or will it prove to be a reliable car.Another question I have is how much can I put out of a s13 or s14, I just plan on doing bolt ons for now and raising the boost a little so im wondering what kinds of gains will that give me. My last question is how much would it cost to do the whoelswap, I can find a good 240 for around 3k where I live I just wanted to know the prices of some shops around here. I live about 40mins from LA and my friend said there is a good shop in LA that can do it but I have no idea whats its called so if someone from LA can give me the name and maybe the website and the phone # that would be cool. Thanks for your help guys:bigok:

For the swap it will be at least 3.5--5K, that's a stock setup basically, not including installation. Installation usually runs 1000-1500. With basic mods and about 14psi (max for t25), your car will be about 260 hp at the CRANK. Yes as long as get a FMIC you can boost safely!

check out http://www.afterdarktuning.com for the swap. Daunttless charges $4225 for redtop installed with DP, exhaust, intake, fuel pump, and clutch. thats plenty to get you started. And you can't compare an SR to a rotary engine, rotary's require alot more maintenance

Stock, the sr20 is capable of producing anywhere from 202 hp to 247 hp at the wheels, and with relatively little work, can produce to 300 hp, and aditionaly with some fine tuning, a couple grand spent on upping turbo and related (ie intercooler, bigger than t25, larger injectors, and such) can get just under 400 hp.

Since you're close with to LA, you have several options. Phase2, cartune, motorex, mckinney, sp engineering, and I think that's it..
