I first tried doing a search... but came up with an outrageous number of posts.... can't sift thru them all....

can someone direct me... or explain to me what exactly Limited Slip Differentials (LSD) are? and what models would have them?

i have to admit... my knowledge of cars is somewhat slighted.... and LSD is something new to me..... I'd love any help, thanks!

If you understand how open differentials work, you can start here: http://www.howstuffworks.com/differential5.htm

If not, start at page one.

Basically.... if one wheel slips, the power is MECHANICALLY redirected to the other wheel. Most high-end sports cars and sedans have it.

It helps when you accelerate hard in a turn, gives you an extra "bite" (best way I can explain it). Without it you'd get wheelspin in a similar situation.
