Just to set you straight... there is NO such thing as a N/A KA24DET. Its either E or DE... NOT DET. As for the stuff to replace... depends... How much will it cost... depends on what you need to replace and what you replace it with. If you replace it with MOST of the ebay stuff, it wont cost you much at first... you do it the right way... it'll cost quite a bit more but you wont have to worry about constantly failing parts... trust me

I know there are tons of peeps with DET's and ET's. I think he is asken' N/A vs. boostand cost all depends on how deep your pocket is.

No such thing as a N/A KA24det <--- the "t" stands for TURBO!

You wont make as much power with NA as you would with FI (forced induction)

NA = high compression (if you want to make power) It is possible to make 220 hp NA with the right build and tuning..

It's also possible to boost a stock ka, tune it right and make anywhere from 200 to 350+ HP.. Of course, the more boost you push into stock internals, the shorter it's going to last..

Um, so to answer your question.. your target HP can be reached with a NA KA.. boosting or high compression, you're going to spend money.. either on a turbo setup.. or a high compression setup.. Plus tunning. Which is the most important part of a build, period!

Good luck.

this is true. 25 psi is not enough for me. Also if you build an engine properly you dont have to rev high to make power, plus unless you got some cams or you shifted your band with gears, there is no point in reving a ka high. get a rev controller.

Neway FI typically means fuel injection not forced indouction, otherwise your saying all new gms have electronic forced induction.

Moving on, 220 can be done, at the crank. more like 180-200 at the wheels. But y? Yes you spend it over time so you can constantly buy stuff, but if you are patient, you can just boost the damn thing. Internals are good for 350 hp so 325 safely. The maf will have to be changed, injectors changed, tuning needed, but you can research that crap.

I had an na ka, it got boring, then I boosted it. then a boosted ka wasnt enough, so I bought an RB.
