Hello!

I read many threads on this forum. Quite informative. If you wouldn't mind I have some important questions. Good chance I might be purchasing a 03' M45 this week. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The M has the trademarks of a great car. Can't wait for a test drive.

1) With gas prices going up what is your average cost to fill the tank?

2) The M I'm considering was leased for years and 3 months in Ohio. The car had one owner. Total mileage - 45,721

3) It was sold at an auction in Pennsylvania???? Seems weird to me.

4) The dealership is an authorized Infiniti dealer, but due to the mileage it cannot qualify as a C.P.O.

5) This particular delearship offers a 10 year or 100,000 mile on all used cars sold on their lot. I have not read the specifics yet, but i would assume it pertains to the engine and transmission.

6) Even though the car has 45k on it they are asking 23k. Is this a fair deal - considering I'm getting a pseudo warranty.

7) I'm curious if this car has the burning oil syndrome. How long would you advise I drive the car until smoke may appear.

8) LAST but not least even though it's an infinit dealer sellind an infinti car, without a C.P.O. I do not feel 100% confident dropping 23k.

9) Is it unrealistic scheduling my mechanic to take a look at the car at his auto shop.. It is approximately 10 miles away from the infinti dealership. I'am prepared to make a deposit and have a sales rep join me to my mechanics shop to make sure everything is legit.... If they turn down this offer, I think I'll walk...

thanks again...

I havent filled her up in a couple weeks but its usually around $60 a fill up with premium, a bit more lately that prices have shot up.The mileage is fine. If they are giving you a bumper to bumper warranty for that time period it is a great deal. I would recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic just so you know what is wrong before you buy. Even if you were to buy it though, there is laws that protect you within a certain mileage and time period, at least in MOST states if not all.The price seems ok for the mileage, it all comes down to options that it has though. BUT, me working at dealerships for the last 6 years, I ALWAYS tell people when they are looking for a new or used car, is to always try to negotiate. NEVER pay what is on the sticker or what is posted because there is always room for negotiations. They will not sell you a car and make pennies on it, it makes no sense right. If they simply will not budge on the price, thats ok. Have them throw in free oil changes or free car washes or free all season floor mats, etc. Get something else out of the deal, anything, that makes you happy.Cheers

this is a hard situation coming to me buying the M. the pricing on KBB and the market value has a sudden large gap. i find most cars (even at dealerships) well below KBB, 2-6,000. then on their websites they will say "save blah blah off KBB" which is BS since market has changed a lot and KBB hasnt kept with it. what is a professional way to claim this defense? "the KBB is all wrong with the market value on the M?"

I sell cars and here is some advice.

If you are shopping for a used car, focus on KBB trade-in value, not retail value, the spread on a mid/high dollar car is usually $6-$10K+ for dealer profit, though most dealers will gladly take a $1,000-$2,000 profit. Also, check NADA values, NADA is the book banks pay most attention to, and their numbers are much more realistic and in the buyer's favor.

On a side note, If you'de prefer an 03 gold/tan excellent shape M45 with 33K miles for a thousand dollars less, hit me up at [email protected]. It's my personal car and I'm itching to scoop up an Eddie Bauer Expedition that was just traded in.

you guys are great. GREAT advice. As a city driver i can easily see myself spening 80.00 plus a week on gas.

i cannot support that, no matter how elegant the ride is.. it breaks my heart but i'll be most likely heading for a 2004 i35..

granted it's not the same but it is an infinit and i found one that's C.P.O......

when gas goes back to 1.25 a galllon u'll see me in an a 2004 m45

thanks so much again...
