Newbie looking to by a used Q50/G37/Q70/M56 + AWD questions

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Hello all,

I'm looking to spend under $20k & have preference for speed, sporty handling & quiet ride.

I prefer lower insurance & don't mind slightly worn exterior, if my first 3 priorities are met. I guess that pushes me towards a G37 or M56 - although of course I love the Q50 & Q70.

ONE QUESTION to start: I'd like AWD for road trips into the mountains. But that REALLY limits my options in terms of what is available.

Can you tell me:
1) How good the Infiniti AWD , particularly in snow/ice?
2) If it would add significantly to maintenance costs?

Also, trying to get a handle on maintenance costs buying a 2013-2015, likely 60-100k miles. Any ballpark ideas regarding that?

At around 100k miles, should I expect big ticket items such as timing belt, CV joints... maybe even water pump etc? AC...

Would also love to hear your general thoughts between these models.

Thank you in advance!

The Infiniti ATTESA system is one of the best, IMO, BUT you have to understand it's not a AWD constant system as it will start off at 25/75 from a start and if not slip will change to 0/100. Snow mode initially sets the AWD distribution at 50/50 and limits torque up until 12mph (+/-) and then it goes back to standard AWD mode.

Timing is a chain and not a belt so you should not have to replace it. If you buy a 100k car try and get a good understanding of previous maintenance being done. If you are not sure and do not know if any maintenance has been done then I would suggest having the diff oil changed, brake fluid swapped if it's dark, etc. Look at the standard maintenance requirements for up to 100k for other suggestions.

All the 3.7's you list have the same ATTESA system.
