Hi all - nice website!

I am looking at buying a 2009 G37 with about 7000 miles on it. I thought this forum may be a great place to find out more about these cars? For instance how reliable they are and what to look out for...can anyone help us?

I am done with the Mercedes and Audi junk - never again. Certainly someone must be manufacturing a quality, nice looking sports car - I hope this is it?

Thanks to all who will respond!!!!

Scott

Is it a coupe or sedan? The new gen G37's are pretty reliable...haven't heard many major complaints. I have a 2009 G37S sedan with about 12k miles and only had the Bose amp die on me (a speaker was dead in the rear...noticed it week 1). I have the 7AUTO and love it! Some people think it's jerky at low speeds...but I only notice it occasionally. The 6MT does have issues and really isn't a smooth transmission. Search for posts on it. I had a 2005 G35 6MT coupe and it was the worst thing about the car.

Anyway, what are you looking at paying for the 09?

Thanks for the response. It is a coupe. Haven't gotten down to the nitty gritty on price yet...

I had a 08 G37 coupe. The only problem I had in some 32k was a TSB for a loose baffle in a muffler. It was stone cold reliable. Every time I drove it I smiled. Every time I had to put anything in the trunk I cursed. Any time I had to haul people those in the backseat cursed me. Any time it snowed more than 3 inches I had to wait for my neighbors to break trail before I could get out( dead-end street). Don't think I'm bad mouthing the G coupe( I also had an 03) just make sure you can live with the limitations imposed by a coupe. After 8 years in a G coupe I now drive an FX35. Good Luck.

im on my second G, my first G35x i put 50k on her (including many track days) in 1.5 years and not one break down past a dead battery once.

ive put 50k on my 2010 g37x in 1.5 years smh and not one break down past my leather cracking on my driver side arm rest twice. Both replaced for free under warranty.

Like you, i didnt go with bmw, audi, or benz mainly because of reliablity and cost of maintence. They are nice cars to look at though lol, especially audi. But i rather have that repair money in my pocket.

Hey whats up guys. So im looking to buy a g37 coupe. I really want the 6spd, but i live in Mass, and am worried about the winter. I have heard mixed responses concerning putting snow tires on it, and the car being fine in the snow. What do you suggest i do. Give up the manual and go with the X or go with the 6spd Sport and put snow tires on it. Thanks alot for the feedback.

Lots of new guys posting, welcome aboard.

Snow traction is only as good as your tires. Bad tires = go nowhere.

Wife just rolled over the 1k mile mark on the G37x. So far no complaints, glad we made the purchase. Already added a few mods to boot...
