Hello everyone, I'm from Istanbul and I own a RS13. It's '94 s13 with ca18det, I think you call them EDM. I bought the car 3 months ago and searching for a piggyback. According to my budget I will make a decision from the two brands. apex'i safc-II and the greddy ultimate. which one do you prefer and why ? I'm afraiding of DIY's like megasquirt etc. Can I easily plug the ultimate or safc-II can solve the problem easily ? Thanx for the answers...

Aras from Istanbul

the greddy ultimate will give you more adjustment and features. I think you can do map sensor conversion with the ultimate. If so, I would get the greddy.

but the safc2 is easier to install, Less wires.

He nailed it. The Greddy unit is a MUCH better unit from a tuning standpoint, but I think it's more expensive, it's more complicated to install, and IIRC requires a Laptop to tune.

The SAFC isn't as good at tuning with, but it's cheaper, easier to install, and doesn't require a laptop.

I've a laptop already. So it's not much big problem for me. And also we've a very skilled tuner here. He's the one installed aem ems on a gdb sti. he's very populer on aem boards

The point I opened this topic is which piggyback does CA likes. As the honda's love to aem's.

Does my CA can fall in love with Ultimate ?? I can afford that...

Aras..

If you've got the money for the Ultimate, I'd say go for it. It's waaayyy better than the SAFC.

go for the ultimate. it can do basically anything a standalone can. adjust fuel, timing, control boost, 2 step rev limiter. yadda yadday. definately worth it. and under 500 bucks its not a bad price. its the price of an assembled megaquirt without all the wiring such.
