Hello All...

I been lurking a bit and decided to post because I now feel I should thank you all..

I love forums for my rides. I always consult the sites prior to a purchase decision. This site helped me decide to pull the trigger on a 2003 M45 with all the options, still do not have actual posession until later this week, but the deal is cut and deposit in. I feel I got a decient price. $23K ...40k miles, Black with tan, Nav,Intelligent cruise, chrome wheels...the Intelligent cruise sealed the deal. Until you drive a car with this sort of system you realize cruise control is absolutly obsolete otherwise!!!

I just had my wifes 2006 BMW 550i bought back for a transmission failure at 5600 miles and numerous attempts to fix with no avail. SO we decided to purchase an Infiniti...for her I have deposit on an ordered 2007 G35 with Nav Tec and wheel upgrades in Pearl with Stone....unable to find this combo in dealerships, so we ordered. 10 - 12 weeks...thats another story.

The M45 is going to be my ride once I sell my 2005 E55...yes you read right. This will give her a ride until her NEW G comes in and me time to sell my E55.

I am done with German cars...2 buy backs in one year...2006 CLS 500, was my wifes first buy back in March 2006 then the Bimmer 9mos later.

I love the power in my E55 but the dependability is a bit scarry. SO I have decided to downgrade for a few years and see if the M45 stirs my emotions. could have gotten a newer M45 but I actually prefer the lines of the 03-04 model. Any ways...I'll be back once I drive it home. Next weekend. To post my reviews...and combaros to the Germans bests.

Thanks....

Congrats on your purchase. Dropping from a 465hp (assume E55 AMG?) SC V8 to a NA 325hp V8 is a pretty big choice. Mechanical quality should not be a problem with the M at all.

THANKS 4 THE WELCOME...

465 HP / 519 lbs of torque. For the MBZ..yes it is staggaring and unreal power. Quite a bit more than needed or ever used but tons of fun. Before that I had a 300C which flared up my power monger ego. But the time has come to let the MBZ go. So this is why I have decided on the M45 past gen. First ample HPs but also luxurious and beautiful lines that are not so common. This is were my E55 lost some appeal. E- class MBs are everywhere now. Big time sleeper...

Welcome to NICO!

I love my M45 a lot ... and totally agree that the unique looks are uncommon. The car does not make as much power as what you have been used to, I guess (wow!), but is sufficient for most conditions!

ahhh yeahhhh! another black M on the set. Its funny, because I've been looking at the E500 for some time now, but I can't seem to pull the trigger for the reason you mentioned; "E- class MBs are everywhere now." My girl friend has the CLK and the car is absolutely gorgeous, and maybe that is why I'm jocking the Mercedes, but..............

CakeDaddy..your ride is impressive...

I purchased my 300C when they were but a few months old (4/06)... I loved the looks I got and for nearly a year later still had people checing out my ride..rode with 22" CEC's that were really unique. This is one BIG reason I went for this car too...Very Unique.. Love the attention!!!

I almost backed out of the deal for the M45 because it is black with light interior... but then went with it. Thats because it has the intellegent cruise.I have not seen one other for sale with this feature....and I have been searching for at least 7-10 days now. Yes I am giving up HPs, but then I am going to gain "cashflow"...

I really the love E55..mine has some cool upgrades but its gotta go, 19" 1 piece wheels, Brembo Big brakes all around and some other Carlsson touches. Wife wants to leave her job for 1 year so it has become the "wise" thing to do.... hate being responsible!!

Keep a posting and as soon as that baby is in the drive way.. I post a pic or 2. Then of course after a wheel upgrade...possible 20"...with that Eibach drop.

thanks !!! arghhhh good luck on those Eibach. I scored a set for my M in Jan 2006 and it was not easy. This car was only produced for 16-18 months, so eibach didnt make many sets. The part number was 6371.140. good luck my man.

look, my eibach story:showthread.php?t=143035

Was that part number for a 2003 or 2004 model? I show 2004 specified by Eibach, but just want to know if they fit the '03 as well.

Thanks
