Hello everbody. Just bought my first 240 last week and look forward on working on it and enjoying it. Its not the car I intended to buy, but It seemed like a good deal for now...90' Auto Hatchback 135K miles = $500.

Anyhow, its not in its best condition, but it does run very good. The engine light comes on and already check for trouble codes but im not too sure on some of the ones that showed up.

23 - Idle switchthen I got...4 fast blinks5 fast blinks1 long blinkAll of the above were done from just turning the ecu screw and watching the "check engine light" blink. The red and green LED's also blink in sync with the "check engine light".

In Mode 3 I got32 EGR41 Intake Air temperature sensor

I tried posting on other forums, but this one seems to have more knowledgeble and technical people in it. Thanks

If I'm not mistaking, I believe that the red and green light refer to the oxygen sensor or sensor circuit. May want to look into that. Also wiggle the connection for the coolant sensor and see if you notice a difference. Maybe even disconnect it and clean it with electronic component cleaner to be safe. The coolant sensor is located next to the cylinder head. It is also the closest sensor to the top radiator hose where the hose goes to the engine. A two terminal sensor. Not the single terminal sensor.

Thanks for that info. Currently its raining here in so-cali, but I will be in the process of cleaning out the engine bay and checking connectors.

But how is the coolant sensor associated with the trouble codes I got?

if i were you i'd go ahead and jsut check out all of the small stuff....and even replacing things, such as o2 sensor, check the maf, check spark plugs and injectors, i bet the air temp problem is eathier a problem with your maf or o2 sensor....since you jsut bought the car thought and because of the high miles it would be a good idea anyway to replace things like that. also remember change the oil and filters

Yeah, the O2 sensor is known to go faulty to give you those check engine lights. I'd replace that before the MAF.

Thank so much for the replies guys, means a lot since Im not too sure on who else to ask for advice on this car. Ive been pretty busy working and only have mornings available. And since it has been raining here in LA, hopefully I'll get a chance to do something on it.

Last week however, I did change the oil and oil filter. The filter wasnt even tight at all so oil will leak out when the engine was running. Gonna give the engine bay a good clean down and continue with changing part. This week my goal is new spark plugs, air filter and continue trying to fix the trouble codes.

One more thing, would I be able test the O2 sensor & MAF with a multimeter? I was able to get the service manual for this car, but its not as user friendly as the Helms im used to. Thanks again.
