Hey all!!

I currently own a 2008 2-Dr Altima. I got a great deal on it and it's a great little car but lately I am thinking I just need more.

My situation is I was just promoted at work and not only did I receive a decent raise, I also got myself a company truck that I take home with me. I live in the frozen tundra of the midwest US but we do have beautiful summers here.

My plan was to more or less turn my Altima into my hobby car now that I have a truck I can drive in the winter. However the more I think about it the more I want a 370z. Also, my Altima is a 2.5 and a CVT. Rather than dump a bunch of money into it and have it be mediocre at best I would rather just pony up the money for a 370. I guess the bottom line is if I am gonna have a car sitting in my garage for a better part of the time it's going to be an actual sports car.

I highly doubt I will buy brand new. My raise was nice but not that nice. So forgive me for being lazy as I haven't done a ton of research...but if I go the used route are there certain years I should stay away from or ones I should really keep my eyes out for?

Thanks for any help in advance!

if your not buying brand new then wait or get a 350z, the earlier models had issues with over heating the oil and going into limp mode stock, oil coolers that actually work decently are pretty expensive too.

As far as I know, the 2004.5 year 350's were really good, and I believe the 2005 was also very dependable.

I found a post somewhere that told me how to tell a 2004 350z from a 2004 based on the VIN.

The ONLY complaint that I could have on my 350Z is that I can't have open topped cups in my car while driving. But then I think to myself, that if I couldn't take the turns I can with other normal cars, and all is right in the world.

As for 370's, I don't know the differences in the years. If you are stuck on a 370, then good luck to you! Let us know if you get one :)

GET IT!!! :yesnod

I love mine. I have 2 totally trouble free years with mine so far. I traded a G37 coupe for mine. I just love a true 2-seater. I'm sure your Altima is nice, but I agree with you that there isn't any need to pour money into it if you really have your eye out for a Z.

Good luck. Post a pic if you get one.
