have a sedan g35 that i just replaced the rack and pinion and power steering pump, steering is still stiff to turn. guess i should start at the beginning- 4 days ago, wife says that her steering is getting stiff.....check fluid and filled it back up- everything is ok. next day- wife says steering is really hard to turn wheel. have a look-see underneath and have a few wet spots on the rack and pinion, ok- time to replace the rack. installed new rack aqnd pinion and problem is still there, order power steering pump and put it in and still same problem. when driving straight, steering is very easy and smooth, when turn a corner or moving at slow speeds, steering wheel is a 2 hander to turn- like it is not being power assisted. tried everything to bleed system of air, and problem is still there. prior to problem- steering in car was almost effortless and now it is a 2 fister for sure. anyhelp on this would be appreciated. tried bleeding with car off and running, cracking lines to bleed like brakes, any help---------thanks again. car is an '04 4door sedan, it's momma's daily driver and my racecar when she lets me drive it.....

sorry. that sounds funny. Well since the assist is variable you may want to check through your lines again, and also, replace your pressure sensor, as that may have killed it as well. The Part number for that sensor is 49763-6N20AIts like $135 or so.

I have a 2005 Coupe with the EXACT same problem. I already put new OEM pump and new OEM rack and still same problem. Did you chage sensor yet? and if so did it help?

OH I forgot to ask. If I ordered a new OEM Infiniti rack and pump, neither of these came with the sensor? Also if plugged up to the computer in the shop would not not give a code for that sensor being bad?
