Alright guys,

I have done enough research the last few days to make my head spin on upgrading my lights and I am looking for some advice.

First off. The car:

2008 Nissan Coupe 2.5 non-premium package, no factory fog lights.

Planned Mod: HID headlights and aftermarket fog lights.

So after trolling the forums I have come to understand that for this vehicle you literally have to take the entire front end off to change out your headlights. Some people say that you can take your front tires off and then peel back the fender liner to get to them as well. Either way it sounds like a pretty solid amount of work so I want to make sure I have everything squared away when I tear into this.

After reading through the threads on lights it seems like everyone seems to have their own personal preference on brands such as DDM, Xentech etc. Sounds like most of these brands have been pretty reliable so far and I am not as concerned on the brand as I am the look.

The advice I am seeking is color temperature suggestions. Again, I realize this comes down to personal preference but I am just trying to get some input on it before I tear my car apart and make the switch. I am trying to decide if I should do the 6k or 8k. I know the 6k is the bright white with a tinge of blue and the 8k is more blueish. From you guys that have put them in do you think one looks better than the other? I am assuming the 6k ones look more factory? I have also read that the 8k ones can sometimes attract law enforcement as they are just too blue....any truth to this from you 8k owners out there? Also if I am going 35w do I need relays? I have heard it's just easier on the vehicle's electrical system if you do install them. As far as ballasts go, is it best to go with the slims or are the standards fine?

Lastly. Fog lights: I can't decide if I should get matching color temp ones that match my 6k or 8k H11's or if I should go with the 3k's to have the more standard yellow fog light look and would offset the headlights a bit more.
The other thing I was considering is possibly doing some halo fog lights that I have seen a few people discuss but I haven't had much luck tracking down any info on them.

If you are still reading at this point I am proud of you and apologize for my rambling.

Any and all info/advice would be appreciated!!!

Personally i have 6k HIDs and i really like them. Ballasts don't need to be slim, they fit fine in mine and mine were pretty fat haha. As for the fog lights, i would get like really yellow lights cause i like the bluish/yellow combination. however, if you got matching fogs with your HIDs that would look good too. This is just my opinion so i hope you decide!

I'd say 8K headlights and 3K foglights would look well. 8K really isn't all that blue, when compared to 6K. When you start getting into the double digit temperatures (10K, 12K, etc) then that's when you start dabbling in the purple/pink color field (very useless unless you never drive your car at night).

I have 10k for my headlights and they are slightly blue but I love them. And I have 3k for my fogs. I love my combination

Thanks a ton for the replies guys!!

I am not sure why this is so hard for me to decide!!! I guess it's not that bulbs are all that expensive...just such an undertaking to change them out!!!

Jeffreey916: Are those halo projector headlights? I haven't had any luck finding them and really think they look awesome in that picture!!

Those of you that are saying you have 8k / 10k and its slightly blue, you guys MUST be using 55k watt bulbs lol. I'd say 10&8k are unquestionably blue, 6 is blue/white ish. 8k 55w looks like 6k 35w or even 5k. I bought 5k expecting pure white and I have a slight hint of blue. If I could buy again, I'd go with 4300. I think that's the same color as the factory HID's and they are more white.

If anyone wants to trade my 5k for their 4300k pm me! Not trying to thread jack

Thanks a ton Jeffreey916

I was able to track them down on Ebay. Now I just need to decide on what will look better, the chrome or the black.

Two last questions for ya. Were you able to fit HID bulbs in them? I have read in the past that some people aren't able to fit the longer HID bulbs into some headlight/foglight housings they have purchased. Just wanted to double check to make sure they fit in the ones you have.

Lastly. Did they come with a switch to control just when the halo part is on or do they come on when you just have the park lights on?

Thanks again.
