There are some good aftermarket warranty companies out there, I believe Fidellity (not related to the investment products) is one of them. See if you can get the Nissan/Infiniti one if you can.
I would take to dealership and find out what services have been performed, there were some big recalls and TSBs on the 2002 around the accelator pedal and its operation, it will get you more performance if you do it. I bet given a low miles Q that they PO did it but worth checking.
I personally think that while the 2002 had some gremlins and was't the fastest/quickest Q of the 3rd gen it got be best gas mileage and was a good car if get a good copy, but you need a warranty to back you now that you have it. Search around on-line for some Infiniti dealerships that sell them cheaper then your home dealersihp. I got a warranty from Nissan dealership for my X-Terra from Fidelity, they have sold them for 20 years and so far they have honored every request i have made of them.
