Greetings all. Got a 2002 Q45 with 20,000 miles on it (CARFAX and DMV verified mileage). I am pretty sure the Infiniti warranty has expired, so what are some options out there for an extended warranty? Thanks in advanced.

Only Nissan extended warranties offered by the dealer are foolproof.

Have you reviewed the more important Infiniti dealer performed service history?

Watch out for any extended service contracts advertised on TV, they are always folding their tents and disappearing into the night leaving suckers behind.

I would just have a PAID post buy inspection by an expert [dealer] and quote and fix everything then save $2,000 per year [starting now] over and above the found defects.

There are some good aftermarket warranty companies out there, I believe Fidellity (not related to the investment products) is one of them. See if you can get the Nissan/Infiniti one if you can.

I would take to dealership and find out what services have been performed, there were some big recalls and TSBs on the 2002 around the accelator pedal and its operation, it will get you more performance if you do it. I bet given a low miles Q that they PO did it but worth checking.

I personally think that while the 2002 had some gremlins and was't the fastest/quickest Q of the 3rd gen it got be best gas mileage and was a good car if get a good copy, but you need a warranty to back you now that you have it. Search around on-line for some Infiniti dealerships that sell them cheaper then your home dealersihp. I got a warranty from Nissan dealership for my X-Terra from Fidelity, they have sold them for 20 years and so far they have honored every request i have made of them.

Got a quote from Circle Infiniti out of NJ. 4 years/48,000 miles for 1350 or so. Going to call a few more, but that seems like a nice deal. Though the nearest Infiniti dealer is 3 hours away from me (ugh), I plan on going up there soon and having my Q thoroughly checked out. Also, will have them check on the dealer maintenance history as well.

Thanks for the advice and look forward to learning from you guys.

Here's a thought, Take it to you closest Nissan dealer, act like a car mag writer and tell'em you were in town testing the 2012 Maxima II MULE and you need the car checked out......and right before you pull up....kinda around the corner....tape over the logos....... When they see the V8 they mat try to call your bluff ............ Tell'em it's Nissans answer to comsumer demand by loyal nissan customers who refuse to buy a chysler w/ a 6 liter hemi or a pontiac G8 w/ a 6.2 liter

Man an 02 F50 w/ 20k miles
