Newbie...have question about A/C light comes off and on

I just picked up a 1991 nissan 240sx. We charged the A/C one evening, then the next day there's no A/C. There might be a leakage, but the A/C light blinks on and off. Anyone had this problem before?

I appreciate any suggestions.
