Post

I'm new to the boards and i want to share my story with you guys. I know it's rather long so sorry in advance.

I just bought a used Nissan A/C 2.4 on Thursday. I gotta say i think i got pretty lucky. I've been searching for a car for a few months now. At first i was going to do the overseas delivery for a volvo c30, but the MY09 came out the price went up and took me way over my price range.so I decided i was going to buy something used and i was going to stay around 21,000.

My boyfriend wanted me to buy a new car and was pushing me towards the Versa (he even tried to bribe me by giving me a 1,000 bucks towards the car), i considered it because i liked the idea of the intelligent key and the extra cash. A day before i bought the altima i went and was checking out the versa, i got some figures on it and i was thinking about buying it. But i did not like the idea of almost spending 18,500 (with dealer fees/taxes) on a lame *** versa.

So I was back to pursuing my dream of a having a volvo. I was going to drive 3 hours away to go buy a volvo v50. I was going to have to wait a few days since my boyfriend didn't have off till the weekend. In the mean time he was still pushing me to look at new cars so on thursday we went to check out the saturn dealership for the heck of it. I have been to several dealers just to see what was out there. I test drove some piece of crap aura they had and then discouraged about how i can not find a car in town and how my boyfriend is fed up with me (We drove 3 hours away to tn the previous weekend to buy a car (2006 lincoln zephyr, not sure what i was thinking)but it was all f-uped if you know what i mean glad it didn't work out) I came across a nissan. I looked at it and wasn't familiar with it, I saw that it was a 2008 and that it only had 152 miles on it. I thought it was some typo, but it wasn't . Turns out the previous owner bought it for her son, but he was too tall and large to fit in it , he tried for two days to drive it around but it was just too small for him so he traded it in for a saturn vue.

After driving it I knew i was going to buy it. I have to research the heck out of everything and with this car i didn't even have to do that. I bought the car for 21,000. yes the boyfriend did give me a 1,000 towards it because it practically is new! I can't believe i bought a brand new car at a used car price. The sticker price for the car was a little over 25,000. I knew I could not find a better deal than this, the volvo i was going to buy this weekend had close to 30,000 miles on it and just a year of warrenty left so I opted for the brand new "used" car with the very high mileage on it.

I am really loving this car. It drives very well and looks stunning. Glad I did not buy a versa because everytime i see one i feel like this .IT's such a goofy looking car. I still secreatly love Volvos and drool when i see them drive by. But when i look at my car i feel like doing this

I will get some photos of my car pretty soon, since the boyfriend is going to be washing our cars tomorrow, he has a 2008 srt-4 dodge caliber and he washes it every sunday. I'll take advantage and snap some pics for the new family.

Thank you for reading!!

Good deal & welcome aboard. Those Versas remind me of the clown cars you see at the circus. I feel really sorry for the guy who went from a 2.5 Coupe to a friggin' Saturn Vue though! Yuck!! I'm over 6' and with a little assist from the power seat the Coupe fits me just fine.

It was close to 25 because it has the convenience package, cvt transmission, sunroof, the interior floor mats and trunk mat. there was also extra fees from the dealer because it had pin striping(which is long gone), and the tires have nitrogen in em. I think thats about it it was slightly under the 25, but close enough for me to round up. IT'd be nice if it had the premium package on it but hey i'm very satisfied with what i got for the money. The only things i'm gonna do is change out the radio for a pioneer nav system so i can get radio control on my ipod and the bluetooth. and I'm also gonna get the car tinted so i don't have to worry about the fabric seats fading from the sun.

that 25K was a marketing ploy... the 2.5 Altima with CVT already goes for 21K, since it was technically "used" and traded in.. you should have gottewn it for 19-20K !

sorry to disappoint you guys with my horrible deal.

Didn't try to haggle because i about had it with dealers and being the car had very low mileage under 200 miles i didn't see a need to haggle. I've almost bought 3-5 other cars and after wasting all that time i just wanted to be done with my car search. I was at nissan and they just did not want to cut me any kind of deal on the versa so i knew i would not have done any better if i went to them trying to buy the coupe.

As far as the thread sucking well so be it, but i thought this was a place we can come and talk about our cars which is what i'm doing ( frowny face used for dramatic effect , no frowny faces were hurt doing the typing of this post)

haha ALWAYS haggle the price... if the dealer doesn't want to, then just leave - it's that easy! it's cool tho, i think i speak for everyone here by saying i'm just glad you didn't get a saturn.
