Hi everyone, Im new, just bought my 1979 Datsun last friday, its a nice truck with a great engine, only 93k miles, has alot of rust on the body, Im looking foward to restoring this great truck, so far i've did an oil change, air filter, fuel filter and alot of cleaning, solved a few electrical issue, bad contacts in the headlight switch, right now the dome light doesnt work, im assuming it may be related to the switches in the door? and the cigarette lighter doesnt work, can someone tell me where the fuse is for it, well im sure i'll be checking back here to learn and get tipsthankstony

26 Nov, got the shock of my life. I was checking to see if the coil wire on the distibutor side was snug, so I pulled on it, it came off and gave me quite a jolt, lol, im so dumb, thanksgiviving I took the oil pan out and changed the oil pan gasket out hoping it would be the cause of my small leak, it didnt, Im thinking its the rear main seal? Yesterday got the windows tinted, looks great, need to get batteries for my camera today and will start posting some pics soon

Hahaha...I have been bitten by my coil before. OUCH! lol

As far as your leak....replacing the rear main seal is not too hard. The hard part is pulling the motor and the old seal. It is a day project for sure.

I recommend pulling the motor and tranny together, this makes everything much simpler. Please post up some pics...I wanna see what you are doing.
