Newbie. Exhaust system problem. Failed inspection.

My Infinti has been running rough the past couple of months. It has been stalling when I attempt to put it in reverse. Today failed the emissions test. I think I need to clean my MAF? I do not think that has been cleaned in a while. Should that fix the stalling and emissions problem?

I had almost the same problem. replacing the Mass Air Flow Sensor did the trick for me. You might also need to replace the O2 sensors. Shop around, though, becuse the price for these parts - and the labor - can vary wildly.

Cleaning the MAF would be the first step.Be sure to use ZERO residue contact cleaner

u have a manual or automatic?

if its automatic, the vacuum modulator or governor assembly isnt getting good vacuum. check that those are okay. or you will be blowing smoke out the ***.

that might be why you are bucking in reverse.
