Hey, and Thank you.

I have put the ca18et in my racing datsun 510, so far so good. I do not have the maf or coils? Does anyone have a picture of the correct ones? Can I swap with a different MAF or do I need the stock one. I plan to intercool and hope to get around 170 solid HP for the Chump car endurance racing series. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Popeye

If you're running the stock ECU, use the stock MAF. If you're tuning and going for performance, get the N62 MAF off the Z32 and tune accordingly.

And you can either get stock coils or here's a thread on swapping to RB coils:

Nistune is fairly inexpensive and gives you full tunability rather than just "tricking" the ECU like the SAFC.

And is this a CA18ET or CA18DET? There is a difference between the two and I just want clarification on which one you are really referring to.

It's the ca18et, not the ca18det, it was in the 200 sx 1986 ish . I found this motor on craigslist for 150. bucks, The internals look factory perfect, the compression, perfect every cylinder. So i though it would be a great 510 motor for endurance racing, I would like to get close to 180,, 200,,, HP with intercooler and ,mild tuning.

The key word is endurance, I will put rev limiter on it for the other drivers on my team. Not sure if you have raced endurance, so far i have done the 12 hours Sebring,,,, 12 Hours Daytona,,, 12 Hours Miami Homestead. It is So much ^%*$&^%$#*&%^(*&,,,,,,,, FUN

And I do appreciate your help very much.

Will post pict, asap.

Pops.

That would be very interesting to see. 12 hours of continuous racing sounds like a lot for the average production engine, but you would know better about it.

Do you go overkilling with your Radiator and oil cooler for this type of competitions?

Whoa, I didn't catch the ET part. That's a whole different ball game. Standalone is your only option for that thing. Also, I'm pretty sure that had a distributor, didn't it? I think it was still electronic ignition though.
