I just bought a 90 24SX 5-speed about a month ago and have alot of little problems. I tried a few searches but didn't really find help. So maybe you guys can help out.

1. My speed-o doesn't work right. Some times its fine, then all the sudden it will drop to 15mph. So now my odomiter is not calculating correctly.

2. Reverse lights don't work when in reverse. A buddy was following me and said everytime I would shift, the revers light would flash.

3. My headlights will not retract (no sleepy eye mod). It was working fine for about 2 weeks then stopped. In the process of changing the relay. Hope that works.

Sorry for the long post, Thanks for the help.

1. check your speed sensor (search should bring up how)

2. the reverse sensor in the transmission may be faulty, use a multimeter to check the continuity of it when it is in and out of reverse.

How many miles does your odometer have on it? Sounds like a rollback to me.

My odomiter shows 149K.

Is the Hayens manual good for refference? I know Chiltons manuals are better but they do not make one for the 240. Are there any other manuals or CD that are helpful for trouble shooting. This is a second car for me, so I will be doing alot of the work myself.

Chiltons makes a book for the 240. I have it, I would recomend that you pick one up.

Sweet, I checked online and Wally World has them for about $17. Going to order one today.
