I am in the market for a remote car starter for a 2006 Nissan Armada. I have been to a few installers and most of them gave me different answers. Now I'm confused and do not know who to believe.
I'm in the market for a remote starter under $400 with installation and i want it to integrate with the current security alarm.
Questions:1. Some dealers say to install the car starter they need to install the valet key inside the dash. Others would install a by-pass module. One dealer did not recommend the by pass module because it is a computer chip and it could loose the memory for the key.
What are the pros and cons for installing the valet key inside the dash? Will or could the by-pass module loose the information and fail to start?
2. The current FOB I click the unlock button once the drivers side door unlocks and if i press it twice all of the doors unlock including the trunk.
Some installers say they can do this others others say it maybe possible with a higher end system. Is this something an installer should know how to do?
3. I thought it would be a nice feature to turn the rear defrosters on using the remote. Once again some dealers say this is possible others say maybe. One dealer did not recommend it because it could cause damage in the long run.
