Hello everyone, this will be my first post. I've been doing some maintenance with you all's posts, but now is time to ask a question in regards to my 97 Altima.

The other day, my dash stopped working (all gauges died), I found the fuse and replaced it, later on the fuse blew again as I was driving, I figure no big deal, I'll replace it when I get home, well before I got home the car started to miss and sputter and had no power, all of the sudden it died and it would not start again, the motor would not turn over. I had the car towed to my house. I checked the battery and it was dead so I put it on the charger over night, next day I replaced the newly charged battery in the car. The car started right away, I also replaced the fuse and took it out for a spin. No problems at all it drove fine with plenty of power, all gauges worked and no dash lights came on at all.

Today I took the car ot for a drive, went approximately 80 miles with no problems, all of the sudden the gauges died and the car started acting up. I pulled to the side of the road shut it down I saw that the fuse blew again so I replaced the fuse, I then tried to start the car but the same thing happened, the battery was dead. I'm at a loss on what could it be, any sugestion or ideas are welcomed.

I thank you all in advance,

sounds like you have multiple problems.best to methodically take data of voltages and charging/discharging current.

we don't have evidence here that your alternator is doing it's job.

once the fuse blows, you should no longer be draining the battery, unless there is an additional issue. confirm what you have.
