Nice Forum; hopefully I can get some good advice and fix this beast...
Here are the particulars:
-1981 280zx Turbo-25k since shop rebuild-new injectors and all silicone vac hose-compression test reveals 135-138 for CYL 1-5-plugs burning very nicely 1-5 (nice even tan)-cyl #6 compression 149-plug for #6 oily
Car problem observed:Excessive oil burning upon acceleration ....smoke screen bigtimeSmokes lightly at idle
It is evident by the plug foul in #6 I am burning oil. I suspect that the valve stem seal is the problem (My guess)What other things COULD it be if not the valve seal> ?
I did not rebuild this engine (I have however rebuilt engines in the past)..so I am not sure what is involved in replacing the seal IF it is the problem.
Is this a very difficult task? Are there special tools necessary to remove the cam?
All help will be greatly appreciated; I HAVE to get this issue resolved before Sept as this is when my wife returns to work.....so I have some time to break this down and repair ...
Thanks!
