hi foreign boy jay again.

i have an 89 ka24e, i did change my engine one time, i was thinking about CA swap but i couldn't sacrify A/C & power steering. So i decided to turbo my KA. I got pretty good compression test results, so i planed to make my car run 0 to 60 miles in 5~6 seconds with turboing my ka.I did research for last 2 weeks with no knowledge of turbo system.(I didn't know almost anything about turbocharger few days ago. School don't teach me how to make sports car.)

I found a topic===============================================The basic, general, easy answer to the 300rwhp question for a KA-T:T3/T04E, 50-trim compressor (.50 or .60 A/R doesnt matter)...

.63 A/R turbine, Stage III wheel... ( <- don't even know what this mean )

External wastegate, the TiAL 38mm is a great choice.===============================================

I have total 1500 dollar, I don't know how to spend this money correctly.I don't know what, and where to buy all the stuff that I need.Anyone please list all the parts I need, to turbo my KA? please?(i read all the Ka-t.org Kae-t forum, and did lots of research, now i know how turbo works )

ps. Great Info Here, Please Read First!!! <- links in this topic don't work i think

the first thing i want to say is this: USE THE FREAKING SEARCH BUTTON!!!!!!! this has been covered about a million times before.there's no way i could possibly even begin to tell you everything, and i'm sure you will have questions, so just search the forum, and then when you've read everything, change the nature of your search, and search again and read read read. so here's my reply:the most cost effective complete kit is boost designs. their stage one kit is $2000, and has just about everything you'd need to make your car run a 5-6 second 0-60 time. here's the link to the stage one kit on their site. their kit comes with the turbo you mentioned above with the stage 3 wheel.http://boostdesigns.com/store/...8e400the main thing to understand (as someone who has no experience with this) about turboing a car is this: if you don't have the fuel to support your target power, and you try for that power anyway, you will most likely blow up your engine. i don't have the time to tell you all the things i and many others on this forum have said before about fuel. you just have to search, sorry. i'm sure others will reply to this but just search and read, search and read.

once you have searched and read a lot and have more specific questions then search for answers to those questions, and if nothing can be found then ask.

i mentioned the boost designs kit above as a choice because of cost effectiveness and performance along with design and so may other things the kit has going for it (good customer assistance). if you want to spend less on a turbo kit you can. it won't be terribly easy to do but you can spend less, and the quality of stuff will suffer of course. but here's the thing you don't need a high quality kit if you just want to mess around with sub 6 second 0-60 times. you can buy the infamous ssautochrome kits off of ebay and save some money... but you will have absolutely no customer assistance whatsoever, and in the situation you are in (being new to all of this) you are MUCH better off with customer assistance. the infamous kit i mentioned above is the kit i have. it does the job, and the kit is infamous because it's not the highest quality out there and their business practices suck. i don't defend the company but they do sell stuff cheap and if you're on a budget it may be something to look in to... but you're going to have to learn a lot more about the way engines work and turbo kits and fuel management among other things before you try and buy a kit that has zero customer assistance.

oh one more thing... all the good things i am saying about boost designs are hearsay... i have had no formal experience with them, but have heard good things from people on this forum and i trust their opinion. of course there are some bad stories also, but those are next to none when you consider ssautochrome's reputation, or trying to build your own kit... you will most likely run into a ton more problems when you try to assemble everything yourself, unless you're buying the best of the best.... at $1500 you're not going to be doing that, but $1500 is plenty for an entry level turbo project, as long as you have good people helping you out and don't waste money on things you don't need.

well actually, hysteria, he mentioned he had a ka24e, and bootdesigns has no luv for the e, only the de.

The e is very tough to get a complete kit for. I've "almost" finished my kit for my e (waiting for my downpipe to get fabbed, weld oil pan, and get bov flanged, and of course engine management).

Anyway kawall, w/ 1500 to spend, I hope you can get more money later, cuz turbo is going to end up costing you anywhere between 2000-3000, that doesn't include tuning time and if you break anything. I've spent 2000 on turbo kit so far w/ all used pieces, and still need to get engine management and tuning. Your best bet right now, like hysteria said, SEARCH. Or at least look through a few of the pages here and read before you ask questions.

here is a good start: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm

That will give you the general idea you need.

Make sure your car is running fine. I'd consider suspension before turboing, but it's your call.

I also have many parts for the 240 I can sell you

oops. sorry. anyway if you're looking for the E stuff well people sell manifolds and things like that on this board all the time, but as above it's hard to come by a complete kit. you can put one together for your price though, for sure. it's not going to be the best of the best but it will easily do what you want it to.
