Hi i'm new to this forum and putting stuff on my car for that matter. I am looking for a performance exhaust that wont sound over-exagerated, cause i dont have a fast car, but i do want the performance benefits of a good exhaust... ALl i see you guys recommend are bolt ons and i was wondering do you put them on yourselves? I dont even think i have a jack capable of letting me do a bolt on....ldo most bolt ons, say like HKS hiper, come with a high flow cat in them?

No, they dont come with a cat in them, thats why they are called cat-back systems. To install a bolt on catback you need at least a jack and two jackstands. Theres lots of posts on what catbacks people like and what they sound like so search for that.

No they don't come with cats. That is why they are called cat backs. As for which is quieter, search. It has been covered a lot in the various forums.

edit: JJ240 must have hit submit like a half second before me :)

I didnt even use a jack or stands for my N1... I just took the 900 ft box apart and slid it under the car. Dropped the stock exhaust, slid it out and slid the N1 under the car :)

Its really easy when the car is at its stock ride height... that was ages ago hehe.

i've read some other posts but i think what im looking for is when would you take a bolt on cat-back over custom mandrel bent piping and a welded muffler? which is generally more expensive/where is a good recommendable place to do it, or does it just depend? What size piping (i know its argumentative) should i be getting if all i have done is intake, maybe headers, and the exhaust on the ka24de engine (not planning on replacing it)?

Also, do high flow cats help alot and are they alot more expensive if i were to get that included in custom piping from a local store?
