just bought it ..in good condition and all stock so far...

I'll be changing belts and oil this weekend and looking for vaccuum leak or whatever is causing a recent idling issue in heavy traffic

p.s. this is my first nissan 240sx .. actually my first nissan for that matter

yeah, you deff made a good choice, i was lucky enough to get a 240 as my 1st car and im in the process of gettin another one now....

Thanks .. I just changed all 3 belts today which was pretty fun.. (they were pretty old and wearing fast)

so far since i got it i've changed:spark plugs,belts,o2 sensor,air cleaner

tomorrow (17th) I'm going to change the oil, check the brakes, change the cap and rotor and check the broken speedo out and see if i can fix it.. not sure if its electronic on the 89 or not .. guess i'll find out. .. I also need to find a manual on that car.. .would help alot.

the HUD (Heads up display) was electronic (where it would project the numbers onto the windshield, and ask B11Sentra about it, he swapped the HUD unit a couple of times, also, u can order a FSM (Factory service manual) from ure local nissan dealer or if ure tight on cash, download it from Zilvia.net (i think they have a dowloadable one, but u have to have adobe acrobat reader) or u can get a Chiltion's manual (they work pretty well)

Thanks for the tip on zilvia.net I'll download it from there and also order the manual.... HUD? I dont think my car has a HUD .. doesnt that display it on the windshield? my factory speedo is having problems .. sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt...

welcome to NICO and congrats on the purchase of the funnest car you will ever own, unless you get something really really really expensive or something, like Lambo, Ferrari, etc. i personally like my 240 alot more than any mustang GT or Z28 i've driven. sounds like you have gotten a good start on your car also. good luck with it! what are your plans for the car? or do you have any?

So far I dont have any plans but to make it run solid ...I changed the oil , distributor cap and button and the TPS today and I am taking it to the muffler shop so they can look over a suspected leak.

after the TPS It still has that stutter... but it has gotten alot smoother ...I have a sensor tester and it showed the TPS bad but it still has that stutter every so often that will smooth out when putting a little more gas into it.

Maybe eventually I will convert it to 5 speed but for now I want it to be really solid.
