Newb question, sorry everyone

Hi everyone I have 2 questions that I really need help with, because I plan on painting the interior and recently removed the sound deadening from the car but it has left a tar like residue so I was wondering if any body knows how to remove the excess tar/soundeadening that is left over once all the major pieces are removed from the car?

Once I am done with that I would like to stitch weld the chasis and was wondering if anybody knows how to cleanly remove the glue that is in the seems?

The easy way is to use dry ice, just pile it into the car and after a bit the stuff can be cracked off with a chisel.
