I have a friend who is parting out his '97 Maxima. He has a set of 240SX SE wheels (95 - 98). I have a base model (4 - lug) 240. Would it be possible to use his 5 - lug hubs on my car? Would the 5 - lug hub - knuckle fit into where my 4 - lug currently sits? Would this setup work properly?

In other words did Nissan set these up in their usual cookie - cutter style?

I am would like to utilize his entire setup if possible; wheels, tires, brakes, etc...

Thanks for the help!

I guess I'm just wondering if the hub assembly will fit in the vacant hole left after the 4 - lug assembly is removed?

Now what you need to get off of the Maxima is the motor. be a nice engine swap for the 240.

I read an article about that swap w/ 240's in a magazine. I believe it was Sport Compact...I may still have it.

That would be excellent...it would also be nice to get my hands on a stillen supercharger if this plan comes to fruition!

I do have it! Sport Compact from Sept. 2006. Page 95 - 106, all about VQ in the 240

-Not the same as the '97 max but the info is still pretty good

you can swap the vq35 from the maxima into the 240 with a 350z transmission. but it aint easy.

If you look hard enough theirs a maxima around those years (96-98) that has 17 inch nissan rims with the four hole bolt pattern. I've seen them acouple times don't know the deff year though.

yeah, I believe all maxima motors until 02 were 3.0l. even the newer 3.5 is supposed to work with the 350z trans. but like dude said, just takes a little more work. I believe you have to use the exhaust manifolds off of the z counterpart, not sure about the intake mani though, but it is possible.

tho bosses on the block are different for the motor mounts off of a fwd platform so that is a little hardder then doing it with a rwd platform the transmission bolts right up as do the exhuast manifolds the intake manifold you have to use the lower manifold half from the fwd and i beleive the rwd upper manifold or something along those lines i can find out for sure tomorrow but yea its a b**** if anyone is interested in this swap let me know tho cause i got 5 trannys and 4 long blocks that need to go and and the 3.0 is a vg not a vq like said above

1995-1999 the maxima had a VQ30DE, 2000-2001 had a VQ30DE-K.

Also, there is no maxima from 96-98 that had a 4 lug bolt pattern they have been 5 bolt since at least 1995
