The 180SX is only in Japan, it's basically the same as the 89?-94 hatch back. The 180SX stayed in production till the late 90's as the hatch back version while the coupe took the Silvia name (correct me if I'm wrong/inaccurate). There's a SR20DET FAQ that has some basic differences, but basicaly the red top has a high port head vs. the blacktop's low port head..so basicaly the red top has more power potential. I may be missing some things here, but that's the general idea. As for how much a 90-94 goes for...typically they are in the 1500-3000 range, but it all depends on the condition etc. Since you definately know you're going the sr20 route, I would say buy one with a blown engine, if you can find one, you'll pay less than $1000. I paid $2500 for my 95 S14, but that's cus it wasn't very well taken care of and had high miles, but I basically bought just the chassis to be my project car.
