I have owned my 1990 5 speed z32 for a couple of weeks now. I got the car with one of the injectors shot so it was running on 5 cylinders. To make things worst regular gas was put in to the car (accidentally) and made the car run worse. All the injectors failed, spark plugs fouled, etc. So I pulled the plenum and just decided to changed them all to the new style injectors. I bought the Injector Adapter Kit from Z1motorsports to do the new style injectors to old style fuel rails and replaced the old plugs with platinum ones (copper ones were in before). After putting everything back together the car still doesnt run right. When i rev the car its a lil sluggish and sounds like one of the injectors are shot but i checked them and all the ohms are good (11.2 - 11.4). I checked the injector connections, coilpacks, changed the fuel regulators, fuel filters, reset the ecu, and still the car runs ruff. Does anyone have any idea whats going on, something I should check???

recheck the coil pack 1 by 1. Other then that you might have a vacuum leak or install something wrong.

After I changed the plugs and injector the coil pack for cylinder 1 burned out so I checked the others and they were fine HOWEVER I do remember my friend saying something about checking for a vacuum leak because I noticed that when the car is idling and I hold the brake for a short period or just keep pumping the brake the car the rpms die down to under 1000 and then shuts off. Which vacuum line do you think it is?

lol there's so many vacuum lines in these cars. I suggest you start checking them one by one. it can also be a pinched O-rings.

True, I'll do that lol. and if i had a pinched o-ring would i simply be able to tell by fuel around the injectors and connectors?

Welcome to Nico!

How did you determine the coil pack was dead? Did you swap it to another cylinder? Have you performed a PTU test?

the coil pack was corroded and beginning to melt after changing the plugs the 1st time and I swapped it out with a spare. I did check the PTU, tried a different one but the was no difference.

Are you getting any ECU codes? Are all of the injectors firing? You can use the screwdriver test where you put a screwdriver on the injector and the other end up to your ear

I believe they are all firing but I'll check again tomorrow. I need to also check my vacuum lines. I got the car with the egr and water deleted.

Make sure you have the exact plug's installed, They are suppose to be NGK PFR6B-11B

Also don't forget the 6 P's http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/f ... ncegt.html

Wrong plugs may hold back peak performance, but that shouldn't produce a miss.

Accually it, can but it also has some other variables to that as well.. like the gap for instance.. I was having a simular problem, with my TT found out the guy had auto lites and gap was way off.

and sorry I assumed your's was a TT if your's is a NA you need these plugs NA stock = PFR6B-11 gapped to 0.044" (1.1mm)

But recommend you follow the link I gave prior, it will answer alot of your questions.

The plugs that I have currently in the car are NGK Iridiums IX and not platinums. Do they need to be gap'd??

Not a bad idea, but wouldn't be my first test. Did you check the injectors yet?
