I don't make New Year's resolutions. I'm already impulsive as hell.

I might retry dating this year. Then again, just the thought of it makes me feel fatigued. I feel like I might be tapped out of kindness and patience.

I also forgot how it works. Is it still okay to ask a girl out by leaving a bag of gold coins with a note on her doorstep?

Gold coins? I'll date you in that case. I don't put out on the first date, though.

Just keep doing what I am and try to be successful at it. I have so much going on, I try not to commit myself to anything I might feel like I don't have time for.

I'm trying to gain 20-30 pounds.

Maybe a second job before I go to college as well.

Exactly. A few years ago I resolved not to make anymore resolutions. So far, I've kept it.

I have some things I want to accomplish in 2011, not really resolutions. No particular order:

1.) Participate in a flashmob.
2.) Continue (nursing) school. Already got my Associates. It's a start!
3.) Go to Arizona. I'm being serious.
4.) Go to some sort of tropical vacation in March. It seems like the saddest month of the year, weather-wise.
5.) Get a four-pack. Already starting to see some (minuscule) definition. Woot!

Not much, but it's a start.

If you want to plan together, I am SO for this. You have no idea. When were you thinking of going?

When I was instructing martial arts, my Master (a great man and mentor, RIP) would sit all of us down before the new year celebration and ask the same question twofold - personal life and professional life. As a younger man, I learned early-on that in order to succeed in your resolution, you must also include a plan to acheiving it. That plan must also be broken down into micro-managable tasks that are trackable and will assist you in your goal. We would reconvene the following year and compare how we did. Few met their own expectations, most failed. It was proven that those who failed to acheive had failed to plan. It was also reflected upon that even if you failed by using the greatest plan you could imagine, it did not mean the goal was unattainable. It simply meant that you needed assistance and to seek out a mentor.

Just some words I hope you find inspiring ... I did. Happy New Year! :)
