I purchased a 97 Q45 180k miles recently. Athough my wife hates it, she wont be the one driving it. I
have always loved tgese cars every since i was stationed in okinawa and had a 96 president. The pic is in the introductions page. I may be stupid because the search function here isnt coming up with any results.

The car is lowered on megan coilovers, has what appear to be 90's bmw 5 series wheels with stretched tires. I started this project with P0305, P0325 and P0330 codes. I pulled plug from cylinder #5 and it had oil on plug and coil. I replaced the valve cover gasket on that side along with that plug. I get everything back together and now i have code for misfire on the opposite side.

Is there something im missing or is it just coincidence that the other side started misfiring with less than 2 miles driven after the repair. Also has anyone had any luck with knock sensors from amazon. I am willing to put in whatever labor is needed. However my wife doesnt like the idea of me spending alot of money on a 22 year old vehicle.
I do have a copy of the fsm and thank you in advance.

:welcome: to NICO! What a great first post. We're doing some upgrades to the forum, so the search feature may be a bit wonky for a while. The coil packs are known to be a weak link on your series of Q, with roving misfires just like you describe. The consensus is that replacing all 8 will save you a lot of headaches. Hitachi ones from Rock Auto seems to be a good compromise between the cost of buying factory parts from a dealership, and no name "maybe they'll work" parts from eBay or Amazon.

Same advice for the knock sensors. I'd go either factory, or Hitachi from RA. Counterfeit Knock Sensors are pretty common. Some even have correctly sized resistors in them so that they check good electrically, but unfortunately don't work.
