Yesterday, Dec. 31, I got a new windshield installed. I got a little money for Christmas and my birthday (which is the 31st) so I decided to get myself a gift. Happy Birthday to me...hehe. My old windshield was in very poor condition. I think the last owner must have got mud on it and ran the wipers...it was really scratched bad...at night it looked like someone had smeared Vaseline all over it...had a bad "halo" effect on the lights...was very unsafe. But now it's like driving a new car. I would post a picture but it's just clear glass...lol...not much to see.

Congrats!! Yup, that's the first thing I did when I got my vert. It was pretty annoying and new windshield made a huge difference. I bet it feels like driving a new car. I've had some rock chips since though. One thing that bothers me a lot is whoever installed the windshield glued rear view mirror a little bit crooked, so it's not sitting in the exact center. I hope yours are okay including all the trims and moldings. How much did you pay for it?

Oh yeah, it feels like a new car now...didn't think it would make as much of a difference as it did. Mine came with the rear view mirror button already glued on (and it's perfectly placed)...when I set up the appointment to have them install my windshield they asked if it was a vert, coupe or HB...so I guess they knew it needed to be on the window cause it was a vert. As of how much it cost, it ran me $227.98 which I thought wasn't too bad. The windshield cost $185 the rest was materials and taxes. The installer really knew what he was doing too...he replaced all my moldings better then they looked before it was installed, none broke and they all went in place very well...of course like I said the guy really knew his $hit. I got new wiper blades today, the new ANCO Contour Premium Profile Blades...they look really cool and work super. A little high but I didn't want to skimp since I had a new windshield. I even picked up some new Royal Purple 10W-30 oil and a new K&N oil filter so I can change the oil this weekend as well. But back to the windshield, I used Safelite Auto Glass...I would recommend these guys to anyone...they will come to your home or work and it only takes them about 45 mins to install the front glass. If any of you have been thinking of doing this I suggest it highly!http://www.safelite.com/

It;s good to know. I searched safelite and several of them came up in my area. I'll definitely use them if I have to replace my windshield in the future. Do you have interior lights built in to the rear view mirror? Mine dosen't have a button on the glass because interior light wires are running through plastic tube.
