PPG - old one pitted chipped and and caught a rock passenger side a few days ago BIG Crack.

For the best fit, you really want OEM. American copies are close, but that's it.

this will be my 3rd ppg windscreen in 10 yrs 340k mi.Perfect Fit.

StarPD had some recent posts on this regarding Safelite in particular.

I have only used OEM for the last 35 years after I noticed that none of the other sources were quite the same shape and/or size as OEM. With enough filler, they can be sealed, but since they usually serve as a stressed member, the opening flexes more due to the imperfect fit. Leaks are usually not far behind.

As for PPG, about 30 years ago I gave them flat side glass to reproduce in a tinted glass. What came back was so bad that I think a first year high school shop student could have done better. They certainly had a lot of room to improve!

30 yrs ago i was 9yo I guess they have improved since then . Just too busy on my part and my insurance carrier deals direct w/safelite Easy
