Ok, I tried to find something on this but had no luck. If there's a thread related to my topic, please point me in the right direction. Here's what's happening,

I just got new wheels and tires for my 91 S13. Before I did this, I had no vibration at all. Now, after 4 visits to the place, I'm still rattling. They have balanced the tires 4 times, adjusted the road force on all tires, changed from slug-centric to hub-centric, they looked at my suspension and said it was in good shape. The vibration starts around 50mph and gets worse with speed. I feel it on my wheel and the shift knob shakes a lot.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm about to take it back and ask for new wheels and tires or my money back unless someone can point to something I can have them look at.

Sorry for the length and thanks for any input you have.

what kind of wheels and tires are they?I would take it someplace else and get it double checked, and if they can fix your problem(if its the wheels or tires) tell the place you bought them to pay for the service.-chet

You obviously know the problem lies in the new new rim/tire package you got. What you you're talking about sounds like a tire imbalance, but if they've been balanced multiple times, on a good machine provided, they should be alright. Unless the place is trying to balance your rim/tire with the road force near the limit. I'm not sure what machine they used, but if it was a Hunter (8700 I think) they should be able to tell you what the weight of the road force was . . . *shrugs shoulders* good luck

Wheels are American Racing Estrella 15x7. Tires are ZE-326 205/60HR-15.

When I looked at my paperwork it showed the wheels were FWD. I asked the guy about this and he said that RWD offsets were for trucks and SUV's and that this would not cause the vibration. Is this true? CAn someone tell me about the offset? Sorry for the dumb s*** question, but I'm new to all this lingo.

Thanks! J

4-100?!? If they are, they shouldn't fit over the lugs and if they 'made them fit', there's your problem. Your car needs a 4-114 lug pattern. The lugs are not centered in the lug holes correctly. Check the actual wheel and make sure it is 4-114. It will be marked on the casting of the wheel somewhere.
