I have decided to order the following RIMs for my M car for the spring (order expected to be processed on Friday)http://www.forgeline.com/wheels/st3p-fltblkde.jpg

I had a chance to grab one of these and put it on the car, and I think it looks great; The flat black with the diamond edge and polished lip seemed to suite the car very well; I have a silver M35. The rims are custom made, they take about 4 weeks to make + shipping time I'm told;

I want to ensure that when I go and get this done, that I can purchase the new tire monitoring system (keeping old rims for winter tires)

and wanted to know what I needed to ensure was done, so I can swap rims each season, and not have to do too much for the system to work;

PS, upgrading to 19" from the 18", and using the following tires with the rims (if memory serves me correct, I may have mis heard the name, but it very close to this, if not the exact tire; the porshe guys al seem to buy this tire, so I figure whats good for them, is good for me! if you have thoughts on this tire, please share:

I little excess for costs, but I really like the look; The rims are about 5k and the tires are a little less than 2kThey are coming from one of the local tuner shops, that helped me pick it out, they have only done this set of rims on a porsche before; frankly, my M is one of the least expensive cars they do; But they do such a great job. I started doing some work on a brabus kit with them for my benz a while back, still trying to figure out what to do there, but I needed tires so I thought it would be a good time to get them (Wife suggested I wait until next year to buy my porsche so I thought this would be an easy sell);

Great wheel choice. Post pics of your ride once you get them on. Dave Schardt, owner of Forgeline, is a good guy. He and others there race Porsches thus they do indeed cater to Porsche street/race owners. I was just surfing their site yesterday trying to figure out how they would look on my Twilight Blue M35.

I ordered them back on Jan 15th, with any luck they will be ready in 8 weeks (I thought it was 4 weeks when I first spoke to them), plus some shipping time they tell me, so just in time for spring around where I am; I will post pictures once the rims/tires get installed; it will be some time, but worth the wait! I have been wanting to do this for 2 years, and just to many things on the go but the holiday break allowed me to spend the time to pick something I think I will like;

I still have to call and see how to add the monitoring system to the new rims, so I dont have to do anything fancy every-time I switch the rims; the factor wheels will be winter rims now and I wan to have the monitoring system on both sets; any advice there or feed back on how thats going to work? (ie, so you have to sync the system every wheel swap or is it automatic?

Thanks for the feedback;tk

With regard to the TPMS, since you are going to the expense of another set of wheels, I would go to Infiniti and buy another set of the TPMS modules. You'll save tire mount/remount costs.

OR......The Tire Rack sell modules for their wheel/tire customers. This is a great article as it tells about two types of TPMS technologies AND has pics and ordering information on just about every car make that has TPMS systems.

Upon going there, I inquired about a wheel for my 2007 M35x and it was $247 for a set of four including a required valve sleeve.

Hope that helps some.

infinitiandbeyondI called the dealer in town and they want a little over $600 for the 4; I had every intent of adding the 4 complete new sensors;

I was more concerned if you had to do anything strange (or hard) to link the new sensors to the cars display; I asked the dealer the question and I didnt really understand the response I got so I'm going to look into it more;

Thanks for the tips;tk

There's nothing else to do. System will read signal once car reaches 5-10 mph.

Ceck with you local dealer. I don't know if there is a maximum limit to how many Sensors per Vehicle. I believe there is. Make sure you get the correct Sensors thus the 02 is different from 03's.
