New Wheels

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I figured I'd share a pic of my new wheels. What do you think? I was trying to maintain that "factory" look and wanted a change from my standard 17" EX wheels. I found a great deal on a new 2008 G37 18" wheel package with sensors and everything. All I had to do was mount them. I love them and the feel great! Very tight.

You know, I really like the way that looks! Nice idea, I bet you saved a ton as well. I personally also prefer the more stock look, so I am impressed with you pictures, nice job!

Looks clean! Very nice. Can you post more pics from different angles.

Now who's gonna be the first one to put the g37 19's on the EX?

I considered the 19" G37 wheels. There's a bunch of them on eBay but I liked these so much the deal was too good to pass. Brand new, less than 20 miles on them with tires and pressure sensors purchased directly from Infiniti for $1300. Again, couldn't pass it up. Now I just need to sell the 17" EX wheels and tires. Anyone interested???

I'll take a few more pictures and upload them tomorrow. Thanks for all the comments everyone.

I sent you an email about your stock wheels.

I do have a quick question. Did you purchase the rims through infiniti? If not did you take the vehicle to them to have the sensor's caliberated to that vehicle?

That tire size is not the standard for the EX with 18" right?.... so it lower a little the car?.....

The EX 18" are 225 55 18" and these are 225 50 18", so yes, but only by a very little. But I've got to say, the standard G37 tires that came on these rims are amazing! A big improvement over the standard EX tires.

Did you research the difference (if any) in the number of revs per mile from stock to you new setup? If they're not exactly the same, the degree to which your speedometer will now be incorrect, depends directly on the difference.

Just a thought,David

Going from a 225 60 17" to a 225 50 18" changed the wheel diameter by less than a 10th of an inch so it didn't really concern me. I doubt I'd be able to see a difference on the speedometer.

What brand/model were your OE tires and what brand/model are you running now off the G37?

Those wheels are hot! Just to be exact, your new tires are almost 3/4" smaller in diameter than the original 225/60 17. Your speedo is now 2.8% too fast. When your speedo reads 60mph, you are actually going 58.3mph.

No, I didn't do the math myself.... although I could!

if this math is right Your ODO will read 50,000mi when you actually driven your car for 48583miles
