Or ride and handle well with OEM geometry.96’er wrote:Looks good Mike, now all you need to do is put some lowering spring on it and it will rock.
Having gone through 3 sets of the XGT in both 225 V and 235 H, and on my second set of 225/60/15V rated Exaltos......The Exaltos are a MUCH better tire all around, and I got 55,000 miles out of the Exaltos- never made it to 40K with the XGTsinfinitinut2 wrote:"I got a good deal ($400)..."
I could even be tempted to replace my Fittipauldi 15" for that kind of a deal! Was there much "curb rash" on them? I also like the clean look of your "new" wheels, the Fittipauldis being impossible to keep clean! BUT, my tire installer said the Fittapauldis were some of the truest wheels he had ever worked on! Alas, my Pilot 235s are getting rather long in the tooth! I would like to keep that 235 size, but Michelin no longer making them, with the Exalto 225 being the only game in town worth considering if I stay with the FittipauldisThanks!
I looked close at the Hancocks to make sure they were the correct load rating and assumed the Potenza's were OK and didn't look. Oops.maxnix wrote:Bastard mix of tires should be solved soon by replacing under load specification front tires with correct 95+ rated Potenzas, even if they are not the best ones!
One of the wheeels has rash on all the ribs and the rest are fine. I'd been looking at a set of Fittipaldis for $150 but they would have needed new tires. These seemed like a good deal considering the cost of new tires alone.infinitinut2 wrote:.....Was there much "curb rash" on them? I have Exaltos on the 94Q. Excellent tires.qship96 wrote:......The Exaltos are a MUCH better tire all around, and I got 55,000 miles out of the Exaltos- never made it to 40K with the XGTs
Sorry, no lowering springs for me. I'll eventually get a rear active or touring sway bar and a Jeff Williams FSTB though.96’er wrote:Looks good Mike, now all you need to do is put some lowering spring on it and it will rock.
No rubbing issues with these tires or on the black 90Q that had the same wheels. I've been on a couple of spirited drives with the new setup and the roads at AJ are windy and hilly. This morning I did a few circles in the parking lot just to make sure and had no rubbing on full turns.mxr662 wrote:My tires are a bit bigger and they rub. Mike have you done any hard cornering?
Does 245/50/17 rub against the fronts, Wes?elwesso wrote:Looks good mike!
Just so you know you cant go higher than a 245-50-17 on the rear because you will rub. 235-50-17 might be a good fit all around. Also, FWIW the outer clearance on both those wheels are the same so it shouldnt hurt to run 235s on all 4 wheels and rotate them as you would the same, even though the front and rears are different widths (IIRC?)
OEM BBS were genuine BBS, not Fittipaldis.goody94q45 wrote:I think they were the OEM BBS wheels. Weren't they dealer installed Fittipaldis?
