I got a good deal ($400) off Craigslist on a set of wheels and tires (and chrome wheel nuts) from an 04 G35 coupe. Front tires are Bridgestone Potenza 225/50-17 93V and rears are Hancock Ventus 235/50ZR-17 96W. All the tires are close to new with about 90% tread left. No fitment issues and I like the look.

Look famliar Andy? Glad we don't live in the same county. There isn't room for us both.

Looks good Mike, now all you need to do is put some lowering spring on it and it will rock.

Or ride and handle well with OEM geometry.

Bastard mix of tires should be solved soon by replacing under load specification front tires with correct 95+ rated Potenzas, even if they are not the best ones!

Ooops! Just noted the Hnakkokies are on the rear. Oh well! Running used tires is like wearing someone elses soiled underwear.

Especially the front whitey tighties!

I could even be tempted to replace my Fittipauldi 15" for that kind of a deal! Was there much "curb rash" on them? I also like the clean look of your "new" wheels, the Fittipauldis being impossible to keep clean! BUT, my tire installer said the Fittapauldis were some of the truest wheels he had ever worked on! Alas, my Pilot 235s are getting rather long in the tooth! I would like to keep that 235 size, but Michelin no longer making them, with the Exalto 225 being the only game in town worth considering if I stay with the Fittipauldis.

Thanks!

Having gone through 3 sets of the XGT in both 225 V and 235 H, and on my second set of 225/60/15V rated Exaltos......The Exaltos are a MUCH better tire all around, and I got 55,000 miles out of the Exaltos- never made it to 40K with the XGTs

I looked close at the Hancocks to make sure they were the correct load rating and assumed the Potenza's were OK and didn't look. Oops.

One of the wheeels has rash on all the ribs and the rest are fine. I'd been looking at a set of Fittipaldis for $150 but they would have needed new tires. These seemed like a good deal considering the cost of new tires alone.

I have Exaltos on the 94Q. Excellent tires.

Sorry, no lowering springs for me. I'll eventually get a rear active or touring sway bar and a Jeff Williams FSTB though.

No rubbing issues with these tires or on the black 90Q that had the same wheels. I've been on a couple of spirited drives with the new setup and the roads at AJ are windy and hilly. This morning I did a few circles in the parking lot just to make sure and had no rubbing on full turns.

My tires are about 0.2" taller front and back than yours so it looks like a width issue rather than a height problem. Come to think of it I had 235/55-17 on the rear of the black 90Q and had no rubbing either.

Good chart:

Looks good mike!

Just so you know you cant go higher than a 245-50-17 on the rear because you will rub. 235-50-17 might be a good fit all around. Also, FWIW the outer clearance on both those wheels are the same so it shouldnt hurt to run 235s on all 4 wheels and rotate them as you would the same, even though the front and rears are different widths (IIRC?)

Does 245/50/17 rub against the fronts, Wes?

OEM BBS were genuine BBS, not Fittipaldis.

Hello Mike... those wheels look great on that Q45.. and what a great deal with 90% thread on tires!

With G35 rims I prefer stock height all the way. I think they look better at stock height... but that's just my opinion.

Somebooody said something about tires. I have to put it out there that Firestone makes great lasting tires. Mine lasted to its warrantied 40K miles and looked like it had 20K left on them. Although my Q45 created a DEEP thread surrounded gash of metal wire on the insides on the front wheels so I had to get them changed.

nice update.

I love that these cars are 5x114, and that so many of the newer models have nice factory wheels.
