I finally got my new wheels. The blackchrome was discontinued, and after months of trying to track down a complete set in good shape, I decided to go with the chrome wheels. They are Boss 318, 20 x 8.5", +35mm wheels.

***EDITED*** I ran 245/35/20 all the way around

Those wheels are hot. If they were +40 or more and still available in black chrome, I'd be selling mine and buying those. Nice choice and good luck with the drop.

Brian, they discontinued them in black chrome, but they replaced them with something called black diamond... its supposed to be a darker version of the black chrome... I just needed to get some wheels ASAP...

the problem is, we don't know when they will be releasing the blackdiamond... I actually think they will look really good with your blacked out A/C... so hold on to your chromes for a bit longer, and be on the lookout for the blackdiamond from Boss... I'll keep the forum updated!

Also, I got a pretty good deal on these, $760.00 shipped! I'll post the pics when I get them installed... stay tuned

Sounds like you've talked to the manufacture directly, any idea if they are going to add more variation in backspacing. I would really prefer a +40 or larger since I'm going to be putting on Pro Kits as soon as they are available and don't want to chance any rubbing. Although it sounds like you'll have yours on with Pro Kits before the black ones come out so I'll know about the rub ahead of time. Less than $800 delivered? That is a smoking deal and I would definitely pick some up at that price.

The way they back this particular style of wheel (Boss 318) they come in +40 offset on the 18" wheels, and +35 on the 20" wheels. You're right, I would have preferred the +40 also, to make up for that, I'll plan on getting the 225/35/20 in the rear. As I mentioned above, these may prevent rubbing, but we won't know until I put the pro kit on!

As far as the 760 shipped, yeah, one of the guys at my local install shop knew the manager at a Big O Tires here in San Diego.. that manager just happened to be best friends with the OWNER and CEO of the Boss Motorsports parent company, American Eagle Racing...hence all the inside information!

Waiting on those pics Feelgood. Thus far I think that style is going to look excellent on the coupe design.

yeah, if you notice, it doesn't have any rivets or small lug looking thingies on the rim... not that I think there is anything wrong with rims that have them, but with this rim, waxing and cleaning is a breeze. Have you ever tried to get wax out of those little rivet thingies... its a pain in the ***... neway, as I stated pics will be up soon...

i'm still getting the springs... gonna try em w/out rolling fenders first, if they rub, i'll just roll em... but already, they feel waaayyyy better than stock... I'm running Nankang-NS II tires..... amazing grip on wet roads!!!!!!!!!11

thanks... it took forever to decide on the right ones... i like the curves with the line down the center, it really accents the curves of the car... but, unlike yours, they are not perfect for dropping...you won't have a problem at all dropping your coupe... I'm gonna try anyway, and pray that the shocks are stiff enough to prevent rubbing... as you can see, in contrast to my earlier posts, I decided on 245/35/20 all the way around!

Chrome is not my thing, but I'm glad you didn't go with the staggered setup, somehow having wider tires in the front just sounds wrong to me

i feel you, some folks really like chrome (i.e .me and Brian) and some folks don't... these wheels scream chrome, so they def aren't for everyone!

I like it. For chrome its not too overdone and flashy. Ive got the same paint color I might wanna look at something similar. Congrats man.

I'm telling you, when you drop yours, if it doesn't rub I'm going to seriously consider selling my wheels and buying yours but in the new diamond black when they come out. I'm crossing my fingers everything goes good for you on your drop...

most folks don't even know about the blackdiamond, so if you get them, you'll be the ONLY car on the road with them for a while... i'll put you in touch with my guy so you can get a good deal on em also...

regarding the drop, the suspension on the 3.5 coupe is a bit stiffer than the sedan... I'm praying that stiffness will hold up... i'm def keeping my fingers crossed

robert,

wheels look amazing! great choice!

Also, the suspension is defiantly still as stiff as it ever was. It will hold up. It works so well with the car
