I was looking for snow tires recently on ebay when these popped up. They are 17x8 with 225/45/17 on front with .35 offset. The rears are 17x9 with 255/45/17 with .030 offset. they are ASA AR1's. The tires are Dunlop sport M3's. I bought them not knowing for sure if they would fit. But they do... like a glove. I kmow they are are tall in the back for winter I figured what the hell. I can alway put some 235/45/17 on the rear - 225/45/17 on front next summer. What do you guys think are they too big forthe 240? I apologise for the pic the car is dirty from winter driving. I paid $450 for the whole set... tires and wheels.

They are a bit wide for a winter application on a car of that weight, but they <are> real winter tires so they are likely way better than what you ran before.

VERY good looking. I wish my wheels were that clean and wider.

Winter tires are not good wide? I thought the more surface area the better. A narrower tire concentrates the weight better, is that what you're saying?

a wider tire on a light car will let the car "float" over snow...on ice, no tire will help you, but over snow, a skinnier tire will "cut" through to give you better traction, surface area is actually bad in the snow somewhat

Ahh, it's all starting to come together now. Too bad I don't have the money to invest in some new ones. How about getting some junk tires and rims, taking the tire off, screwing in screws in through the inside and re-mount the tire with an innertube. Home made ice studs. LOL. Seriously though, ever thought of that?

Nice setup!!, I like the wide lip on the rim. If you go with dry season tires, stick with the same size tires they look good on the car...
