Hey guys, so I'm looking at getting a new set of wheels and tires and I would like a little bit of advice. For the wheels I'm either going to do probably either 20x9 or 20x10 + 40mm all the way around.

But for the tires, and this is where I really wanted some advice, I dont know what to get. I have Nexen n3000's on there right now and absolutely hate them. The only reason I got them was beacuse it was $100 for 4 tires... I know why now!! Inside the car (as one forum member said) it sounds like a jet is taking off from 20-40mph. I can also feel a lot of vibrations inside the car now with these.

My main goal for tires is comfort and to be as quiet as possible. I've heard that sidewall stiffness and directional tires increase the noise levels? Not sure, but I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on tires being quiet for the first 5,000 miles and then getting a ton louder after that which is not what I want.

The main 2 tires I have looked at so far are the Michelin Primacy MXV4 and the Continental DWS. I heard the DWS get louder after 5,000 miles (?) and im worried the primacy isnt offered in 275/35/20 for the 20x10 wheels.

If anyone has any knowledge of these two tires or has any recommendations for tires that would fit what I'm looking for that would be greatly appreciated! And recommendations on wheels are welcome too. (I like concave wheels :chuckle: )

Thanks!

First and foremost ... Welcome to NICO. Lots of great info in here and lots of helpful peeps.

I recommend that you go to the Tire Rack website. You can see all tires that are available in your desired size. You can also do as I did. I bought my wheels and tires from them. They have great reviews and video comparisons for most of the popular brands. Since you are planning to buy BOTH tires and wheels, I recommend you get both Tire Rack at the same time. I upgraded from the OEM 18s to a great looking 19in wheel and Hankook Ventus S1Noble2 tires (255/40/19) and here's what they will do ... they will mount and balance them for free, include two-year road hazard for free, install new TPMS (xtra charge), and ship the completed tires to any local tire shop you choose. All you need do is go to that shop and have them install and do a wheel alignment.
I just used the road hazard feature. I developed a slow leak in one tire. Turns out a nail entered the tire at the top of the sidewall in an area that cannot be repaired. I took it to the tire shop, bought a new tire, and sent the bill to the road hazard peeps. In less than a week, they sent me a check. The tread was at 10/32 and the new tire cost $225. They sent me a check for $202.
The wheels and tires are in the pics link in my sig below.

Thanks for the welcome!

Interesting, I had looked at tire rack before briefly, but I have never actually bought anything from them. I do like the idea of an "all-in-one" package so that I dont have to deal with any other places, just them. That, and I actually think that their prices are pretty good after looking at their site. Most other places I looked (which btw, all had horrible customer service upon calling them and would definitely not consider giving them my money based on the experience and friendliness of them) at also costed a lot more.

I just looked briefly and I actually found a set of wheels I really like! I think I may actually try and buy them tonight! The other places were $2300-$2500, they way over priced their tires. Tire racks are much better priced I think. I did look at the tire options as well, not many choices other than the DWS so looks like thats what I'm going with!

Also, I didnt know about the road hazard feature. Thats actually pretty awesome. You mentioning that is what made me really interested in checking them out so thanks for that!

Your wheel setup is clean, I like it. :bigthumb:
