Picked up some 18X8 350Z touring wheels this morning. They came with tires but I'm going to replace them as the tires are mismatched-size and brand. 225/40 in front and 255/35 in rear. The 225's are way too small.Whad'ya think?

Also, the wheels are stamped 18X8 with a 30mm offset but two have "front" marked on them and two have "rear" marked on them. As far as I can tell they are identical. Anybody know the difference?

Buy one of the sets of Tein springs I've got for sale which will drop it 2" and it will look like a stock M45 (02-03). First thing I thought when I saw the pic was M45. Looks sharp.

I'm leaning that way more and more! When I had one side jacked up it pushed the other side down about an 2" and it looked perfect. Keep an ear out for me.

Nice! Put some good 245/45-18 or 255/40-18 tires on them and you will have an excellent set of wheels/tires! Make sure that you get a good load index tire!

If the load index on the side of the current tires on those wheels are less than 94, then I would up the tire pressure to over 40psi immediately (try 44psi if that is less than the max marked on the tire) and replace the tires as soon as possible! Before driving on any bumpy roads at speed.

Hmmm ... I was under the impression that the front/rear markings were there because one set was 33mm offset rather than 30mm for those wheels. At least, that is the way it is done for the Infiniti G35 Coupe wheels, as I recall.

Have you confirmed the markings for sure? Both the offsets and the widths are the same for all four wheels?

About the only other thing I can think of is that they allowed for the tire sizes to be different for the front to back, but I am not sure why this would be an issue if the tires were changed later.

The offsets are staggered on the G35c/350Z 17" and G35c 19" wheels, as well as the 350Z Track and 06+ 350Z 18" wheels. The G35c & 350Z (except Track model & 06+ 350Z) 18" wheels are the same offset but due to the staggered tire sizes of 225/45 front, 245/45 rear, they're stamped either front or rear. All of the G-Coupe and 350Z OEM tire sizes are staggered.

17" - 225/50 17x7.5 +30mm F, 235/50 17x8 +33mm R18" - 225/45 18x8 +30mm F, 245/45 18x8 +30mm R18" - 225/45 18X8 +30mm F, 245/45 18x8.5 +33mm R (03-05 350Z Track & 06+ 350Z)19" - 225/40 19x8 +30mm F, 245/40 19X8.5 +33mm R (G35c)18" & 19" - 245/40 18x9 +30mm F, 265/35 19x10 +30mm R (06 350Z Track & 350Z GT)

I guess it's a small attempt to prevent front to rear rotation on the Z and G coupes. Not enough to prevent installation of all four tires of the same size on the rims (I've already seen it).

Maybe the customer wanted it that way. Or the customer and the installers were less than knowledgeable. Who Knows?

Yup they are. I'd definitely get the Teins from Falk now that he's ready to ship.Don't wait. It would make a world of difference. Looks good by the way!

I have the same wheels w/245/45 Avons...

Mine are stamped the same as yours, I measured the offsets and they are all 30mm, the only difference I can find is the front center caps fits a tad deeper than the rears...? Why, I don't know...

Those wheels look better on a 97 than they do a 94...Time for another Q?

I have recieved my Cali-Customs but they are not on yet...

You for sure need to do the Teins, but I wouldn't leave the stock shocks, replace them with KYB SR Specials. they are expensive but I have them in combo with the Teins and it is like night and day!! Seach on Onetongarage and work a deal to get the shocks/struts replacments....took about 2 months but worth it. Worst case get fresh OEM ones.

Update- I just bought a set of Continental Pro contact 255/45/18 tires that are currently being installed. These are 27" tall 2" taller than the current tires and 1" taller than stock which I hope will make a noticable ride/looks difference for 18" rims. These tires got excellent reviews for ride/noise comfort and the the 255's were $27 cheaper than the 245's. I'll post pictures later.
