Just got my new wheels, installed them Wednesday night and have been driving them steady since. Im noticing quite a "wobble" or vibration once I hit about 60+ MPH.

Now...I just had my Eibach springs installed about 3 weeks ago, so Im due for the mandatory second alignment since they should be settled in. Supposedly the new tires were balanced when they were mounted by the distributor I bought them from (there ARE weights on the inside, so they at least tried). I have an alignment scheduled for tomorrow morning. If this shake doesnt go away, any ideas as to what the culprit might be? Wouldnt be alignment and SHOULDNT be tire balance, although who knows. Ideas folks?

Then i think you should bring your rims back to store and ask them to re balance , tell them the speed hit to 60 MPH have this problem , then they can adjust , or wait to see any other member cmmts.

It might not be the wheel at all. This happened to my son's car ( 01 Acura TL) and it turned out that the tire was bad. Basically when a tire is made, one part of the tire is "heavier" than the rest. this spot is designated by a painted dot. when the tire is mounted, it is usually lined up with the valve stem location. If the tire was incorrectly made, it can cause what it's called a radial pull or radial wobble. Radial pull is when the car pulls to either the left or right but when you put it on the alignment rack, alignment is perfect. This is usually countered by swapping the front tires to the back. Radial wobble is basically what is it..a wobble. It can be compared to a blanket being washed in a washing machine. if more of the blanket is on one side of the drum during the spin cycle, it will cause a wobble thereby shaking the washing machine like crazy. The only way to get rid of this is to replace the tire itself.
DJ - have you moved the tire from the present location to another location? if you did and the wobble seems to come from the new location, I would suspect that you have a badly made tire. Balancing the tire will take some of it away but not all.

Whoa! Havent been keeping up on this one. I have not moved the wheels. I have had them re-balanced twice (after the original mount and balance) and they are coming out PERFECT. The shop I went to even re-calibrated their machine before the second time. They did mention this bad tire issue, but said there wasnt really anyway of confirming it without leaving the car for a day or two which I cant do nor afford to pay them for the labor. They said they checked all the stems and were up to par. Im going to go look for this dot and see if its lined up with the stem.

Dots on passenger side are lined up with stems, cant see the drivers side because its on the inside and cant jack the car in my work parking lot. Im going to assume that they are also correct.

Dangeris I just remembered, my shop Road Force tested all 4 wheels, they told me this SHOULD detect a bad tire. When they said to leave it Im thinkimg they were trying to get some more $$$ out of me. Thoughts?
