I'm looking for some new wheels and tires for my 06 M35. I was looking at the ASA GT1's on tirerack and was wondering if there is any reason this setup wouldn't work on my car.

19" ASA GT1'shttp://www.tirerack.com/wheels...Paint

Goodyear Eagle RS-ASize: 245/40R19Serv. Desc: 94VUTQG: 260 A Ahttp://www.tirerack.com/tires/...1=yes

I ask because the eagle's are on sale for $97 and it seems too good to be true. I'm trying to do this cheaply but this seems like a decent way to go. Advice?

For many reasons, we strongly recommend AGAINST the Goodyear RSA tire. The price is low, and the longevity is good, but the tire is horrible in wet weather and has issues with tramlining.

I can't comment on the wheel since I do not know it.

Thanks so much for the response! Tramlining is the term I've been looking for for months! I took my car to the dealer and explained the problem and they said it was common and suggested staggering the tire pressure to 37 in the front and 34 in the front. That made it better, but didn't resolve the issue.

I'm looking now at Continental ExtremeContacts, they seem to solve the tramlining issue and get good reviews here.

Thanks again.

did you buy those tire rack wheels yet ??upsides ..

i am a big fan of used wheels simply because you can get a whole lot more for a whole lot less if you get my piont ..on the down side ...used wheels are tricky since you will have to (trust) the seller or meet them at a tire shop have have them check out before mounting at his expense

I often get into a lot of BEEF with the other member here since i say it like it is ...why spend 2 g on tire rack stuff when you can get used FORGED brand name that has a great re sale value -wheels that will improve your fuel milage and look a lot better for the same price or way less

i would never go cheap in tires for comfort and saftey since its the only thing that is between you can the road...

No, I haven't bought these wheels or tires yet. Any good suggestions on places to find used wheels?

If you're into a quiet and smoothe ride, I was considering the Michellin Primacy MXV4 (I'm pretty sure that's the model) for my next set of tires, but I found that the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum has pretty much the same review ratings as the Michellin's on tire rack and much cheaper. So I'm going to have them installed on my car this weekend.

For some reason the tech mentioned that they need to get the tire w/ the 96V rating and not the 100W. I guess the load/speed ratings aren't 'backwards' compatible.

Huhn?

That does not make sense to me - so I don't know why the tech said that. As long as you get 96 or higher load index, and V, W, Y or Z speed ratings, you will be fine.

I would pick 100W over a 96V in a heartbeat!

They'd fit fine, checking the offset they are at 45mm which is very close to stock and Tirerack says they are only ~26-27lbs which is not too too heavy.

the tires though - last a long time but everyone else has pretty much summed it up for you already

How did I know you were gonna say that lol

Just curious if you checked out the price of the Forgestar wheels? Not saying they are cheap, but to anything comparable they are far below any retail wheel manufacturer with similar quality. I'm not a forgestar rep nor do I work for a wheel company but hot dang I think I got a deal and I payed a little less than advertised price because I actually brought that wheel to the local wheel company I purchased them through

Seriously though, I was going to buy used! I was going to buy a used set of Lexion 203's with brand new Toyo T1R's but the guy wanted $3200!!!! I searched and searched and searched for close to 2 months to find the wheel I liked and in the offset that would work. I checked all those sites you listed and nada. The reason I bought new because I saved over $800 off the price of a USED wheel and bought Brand New and Better Tires with the Nitto INVO's - I got to choose my exact offset and tire size to exactly my specs - no comprimise on fitment

Just saying - Used is good when you can find a deal that works, but I couldn't find the right set of wheel in the correct offset. On top of that I saved almost $1k

Oh, btw I had to buy new wheels, not because of Want but rather because of Need - 2 bent rims and a vibration I had been trying to track down for 6 months. Needless to say I was a bit ecstatic when I found forgestar

Yeah, nice wheels that don't fit...

Seriously , do you think.......for a infinitesimal minute those would fit a "M"(without major fender work ect...)?

Your lack of knowledge regarding offsets even amazes me. Try to use your Petrol head in a way that's productive.

In the mean time, try again. One more time for good measure...

19x10 would need a 44mm offset. Those wheels at 24mm offset would fit 20mm outside the fender at stock height. Thats about 4mm shy of an inch. See that's what I'm saying about used stuff - finding a used wheel with an offset that is close to ours is friggin tough.

Try lookin in the G35 Sedan forums. Their offset is close to ours, but still you need to find some wheels that are very conservative for offsets on the G35 sedan as compared to our M
