New weirdness with the J .

Started yesterday ..If it sits for a long time , like overnight , It starts up fine and smooth .But after I drive to work and head out to lunch 4 hours later ,When I start it it feels like 1 or maybe two cylinders are missing ,Check engine light comes on , rough as heck idle ..I get going and run the RPM's up and Boom .. All is perfect ..Its like it has a flooded cylinder and I blow it out and all is well.

Any Idea's ??

First guess is spark plugs.

That was my first thought too but the starting fine after sitting overnight baffles me.

My guess would be an injector leaking down. Floods one cylinder. Overnight would be enough time for the fuel to get past the rings and into the crank case.

I'll check for Gas smell on the dipstick pronto ..

If thats the case how in the world would I know what Injector it is ..Ohm em out ??

You could take your fuel rail out and see if ayn wetness leaks out.

wooh way over my tiny head ..Fuel rail with the injectors attached ??When its running rough the check engine light comes on .. Could I get a code that says what cylinder is hosed ??

Think Kul Fir nailed it .I smell a tad of Gas in the oil .. crap ..

Would an injector thats leaking down after shut off ohm out of range ??I gotta get this sorted asap , this is my get to work ride .

I don't know about if the bad injector will ohm out OK, but it is easy enough to ohm them all out to see what the number are, also, take the spark plug s out when you think it will leak and try to smell through the hole for gas.(use a long tube if you have)
