I should probaly post this in the intro section but I was apart of the 300zx forum first, now after talking to friend and soon to be some exchanging of money.

I will become a new vert owner.

I was looking getting to a s13 hatch but this came up and knowing how rare the s13 verts are. I jumped on the situation.

I am just not used to whole look of the car. It will take some getting used to.

I hope you guys can help a noob s13 vert owner with a 1993 vert on the way.

btw thanks nathan since i know you are on this forum.

welcome man, glad you chose the road less traveled! the look of the car does take some getting used to, more with the top up at least. you'll quickly get over it on your first drive in crystal clear weather on a nice day.

i'll be more than happy to help in any way I can. I am more use in the appearance of the car, exterior mods and wheel fitment (well, thats what I am into) so feel free to pm me questions if you got any in those categories. i try to stay up on the board so if i feel i can add to the topic ill jump in.

congrats on the car man and enjoy!

Thanks man I do appreciate it, I own a honda del sol as well, So I kinda know the whole convertible feeling. But This 240sx will be a project/ fixer upper car while the honda can be a DD.

I been looking a getting wheels for it and of course I will convert 4 lug to 5 lug. What are a good size tire for front and rear for the car. I still new to nissan and learning about 5 lug sizes mainly for rwd since this is my first rwd car.

for beginners with stock bodies i would probably recommend a width/offset setup like 8f 9r with +20ish offsets. for a more aggressive setup, go an inch wider, lower the offset, or both A and B. as far as tires i would probably run 215/40 and 235/40 (same for a 9/10 width to stretch tire a lil for fitment reasons) or something along those lines.

it is some what difficult to get good fitment on a budget, so you will have to decide how important it is to you. also, finding wheels with the exact size/offset you want with out ordering new from somewhat high retailers will prove to be a challange to. keep an eye on forums like Zilvia because they seem to have a good eye for good fitting wheels.

Good luck man, i'll be around!

awesome. I will keep a eye out. I was going to ask you about tires but you already answered my question. I mean I use 205/40/R17 on my del sol with my new 17 inch rims but you answered my question for me.

Your so helpful you can read my mind.

Do you guys agree that the vert is better then a fast back. If you had a choice. Also how rare are these verts?

I had a black 1990 hatch. I loved it, but it's NOTHING compared to my vert (both were 100% stock, BTW). The hatch felt faster, but it's probably that it just felt more stable @ 115+ mph (don't tell my wife that I've driven that fast in a convertible!).

I get way more compliments on the vert. I find it funny that people think it's some sort of exotic. Sadly, mine's for sale. It's on cars.com if anyone is interested, or you know someone.

As far as the rareness of these cars, you can check the stickie at the top of the vert forum. There are actual numbers from ASC as to how many of each year were produced, as well as some interesting stuff, including downloads of the FSM (very helpful).

Anyway, chrisgu28, welcome to the club. Honestly, the guys on this forum are great...passionate about their cars, and willing to share info & experiences. Once mine is gone, I'll probably be back in from time to time, just to reminisce. Maybe one day, I'll get another one.

Enough BS! We demand pictures!

I speak on behalf of the entire vert community on this topic.

Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay. I don't know anyone who has owned an S13 convertible and regretted it.

If you do want your username changed, and it's not one that someone already has, I can change it for you.

Welcome to the club my new friend! Glad to have you. We demand pictures... Dexter wasn't kidding about that.

You have one of 4602 'verts from 1993. A total of 8320 overall for US and Canada. Not sure how many are still on the road though.. If I were to take an educated guess... I'd say maybe a little over half of them.???

Please help us work on this by registering your 'vert in our Registry thread. It's a sticky atop the forum.

thanks!

Welcome Chris,This is quite the mellow portion of the NICO family. Everyone here tries to be helpful and most have owned their Verts for years, so the knowledge base here is awesome. If you have questions feel free to ask. DeXter is the official PIC Police so you need to post up. Probably one of the only requests of this group.... we like pictures .. i like em cause i can't read. Once you have a Vert and can enjoy cruisin on a nice day, owning anything else seems.....well.. boring. I'm on my 7th convertible car and love the Nissan the most... plus being able to get some fun power and all the (now) aftermarket support is great.

Welcome again.
