Hey out there,

I just acquired my first Nissan 240SX. It's a 1993 Convertible, with 97000 miles on the original motor. I am really excited, this car is super clean. I have a few things to do to it (door panels, seat) before I do the SR20DET swap...but that is coming in very near future.

I need YOU to give me some advice as the experts that you are. I am a total noob to both the car and this forum, so please, any advice you have is much appreciated.

create a photobucket account and link from there. theres options on each picture that you upload to pb and it will give you codes for what you want to do.

Well first off welcome! You have a great car, and it only gets better from here on out!

Second, you better get on that photo bucket and pic thing before Dex gets in here.. ..you have been warned.

Third, what are your plans for the car? Besides what you stated, and what do you need help with? But be careful, if you say your putting a huge spoiler and underbody lights on it you will get some flack from alot of the guys here.

Hope you enjoy your new baby!!! Keep it clean and keep all 4 tires on the ground! lol

Ah crap...you guessed my plans... I was thinking of GREEN underbodies, a Veilside Widebody kit, 18 in spinners (due to budget constraints, I will use the hubcaps from Autozone), and the spoiler off of an F-16.

Just kidding. I am looking for a fun daily driver that I can use on the track when the urge strikes me. I am gearing up (pun intended) for an SR20DET swap with a 5-speed conversion. I would like a car that has about 350 + or - a few whp.

I could use some general guidance in regards to getting the car looking and running nice. As is the usual banter on here, I am strapped for cash and AFTER having purchased the vert, I have about 7-9k respectively to do the swap and get it running. This may put me in the 300 whp range, and I would be okay with that, it's a good start.

If you have any suggestions as to where to start, who to go to (I'm in NC) for support, which shops are the best and what works/doesn't work, I am all ears. Thanks for the welcome. Pictures are forthcoming....

Well thank god you were kidding!! And I know nothing about sr20 swaps. I'm getting ready to do a VH swap to my HB and once thats going I plan on doing the same to the vert. I never wanted to go for the sr20 swap. Everyone and their mom does that and I wanted to do something different besides going down .4L and throwing on a turbo. And I'm not sure but I think most sr's you pick up have the 5 speed with them so no need to do a swap. As for style be sure to lower it a ton and get some nice rims on it. But thats all to the taste of the owner.

But good luck and get on those pics!! Your so lucky Dexter hasent been on in a few days. Or he would be all over this!! LOL
