So, today I finally registered my 240 and am getting ready to start doing some work. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on good shocks to get for the car because it's driving like a boat. Also, what type of air intake or K&N filter is good to replace the box. (I forgot what I used on my last car)

Also, as a quick poll, are there any people on this forum LA. just curious. Great forum! i'll try to catalog the li'l upgrades I do to my car.

Are there any weight saving secrets on the car?

I've seen one convertible in red a long time ago. I bought mine in white last week, and have since seen another on craigslist in white the next day and there's a white down the street from me.

When you drive your convertible around, do you normally ride in a normal driving position, or move the seat back and recline a bit. I'm going switch to the convertible being my daily driver next week.

there's plenty of verts in so cal. you'll see more as you drive around.

you can post in the regional forums if you are looking for 240sx meets, etc.

as for vert specific weight savings, matty boi mentioned the biggest 2 things. Most of the rest are normal 240sx weight savings stuff. No point in doing much more than that unless you are prepping it to be a track car or something. you can browse/search the rest of the forum for other weight savings tips.

seat position is just comfort. I personally prefer more upright seating position since it makes it easier to stay alert and respond to other ppl's driving.

K&N air filters are fine. You can also go HKS drop-in if you prefer dry style air filters (you'll have to replace this after so many miles, of course). You can even go cone filter if you feel frisky. It will make a small difference in sound, but in the end, an air filter is pretty much an air filter - any major/decent brand and you'll be fine.
