Hello
I have a brand new nissan versa 2010 Canadian.

So far...

Rotor are craps and shake when braking. The problem is now big with around 3k miles on it.
When i put Blower there is a big starting noise. Same thing for the AC...
This noise is intermitent when you open the hood and your listen... comes and stop etc.

Can you explain me whats going on with this Versa...

Do i need to get someting replaced?

Also i went to Virginia this summer and the AC is not so cold :nono:

I don't know about your A/C, but I had some vibration in my steering wheel when I would brake coming off a highway in my new 2010. I took it to the dealer and they resurfaced the rotors. It seems OK now. I've heard other instances of rotor problems on new Versa's. Don't know what would be causing this.

My AC has a moderately loud click when it starts but the hissing when it's working I assume is normal..but I only have 300 miles on mine ( one week tomorrow), no brakes issues yet.

Is the AC compressor usually loud when engaging in these cars?

I don't know what your version of "loud" is, but they all exhibit the engaement noise and a hiss when the system re-pressurizes.

Thanks for your input. I guess I'm still getting used to this car. The AC is engagement is some how noisier than my previous car which was an older Corolla and I don't remember the cycling been so noticeable. Appreciated!

Ok figured out...
Same here its only the AC thats make cycle.

BUT can you tell me why when i put DEFROST on front windows from the select Blower it run automaticly on AC even if the light is not ON??? I cannot have ONLY Heat on the defrost front windows since the AC Constantly work.

The A/C automatically comes on with the defrost to help clear the windows. Otherwise just putting heat on the windows will cause it to steam/fog up rather than clear it up. If you want to disengage it, simply push the "A/C" button when the defrost is on. All our Versa's are the same in this regard.

As for the A/C not being cold enough, I'm not sure why your's isn't. I took mine to Myrtle Beach when it was 3 months old, and the A/C worked perfectly fine in S.C.'s summer heat.

For the brakes/rotors; my 08 has not shown any symptoms that your car is exhibiting. Being a brand new car, just take it to the dealership.

In mine, after i put defroster on and then turn AC light off, the compressor will still cycle on and off briefly to keep it from seizing during non-AC seasons. AFAIK, this is normal for cars w AC.
Is this what's happening? Hope this helps.
I just leave mine on. I still get good mpg.

your A/C system should run once per month to prevent the seals from drying up and eventually leaking. For colder climates that don't use A/C a lot, they make the defrost setting trigger the /C system also. This keeps the system in good shape. If you are really that bothered by it, add a switch that can stops the 'on' signal to the A/C compressor.

The start up noise and hissing seems to be common with the Versas. I friend that owns a V. stopped by and compared with my car. It does the same Click and hissing when first turned on. I wonder if all other Nissans are the same. BTW the AC works great though.

I've noticed the startup noise, it's like the ventilation starting or something. This must be the engagement noise like you said. I can live with that. Although, is it normal that sometimes that engagement noise is fairly low, but other times, it makes a very different noise, sort of like a high pitch buzzing (could be the hissing you guys talked about?). Of course I went to the dealer but it didn't do that specific noise, just the regular click and they told me it was normal. Anybody is having this issue?
